Once I reread the owners' manual, programming scenes became easier. First read (for a newcomer to lighting) was difficult. Wish it had an overall fader in addition to the blackout button. I got it so I could operate the Chauvet DJ FX Par 9 lights in the 22-channel mode; a 16-channel mixer cannot.

After two in a row that showed up bad, one with a missing joy stick the next not functioning properly, my third one is doing its job. I called Chavet and got an inexperienced person who tried to tell me, "they all do that". Even after explaining my experience with the board and my experience in the industry, she blew me off. I will never buy another product from them.

Although I had issues in the beginning figuring out how to use some of the features, it soon became easy to use after learning that the dimmer switch labeled 7 turned DMX on for the lights. Learning that was the key to the machine pretty much. Great lighting controller to move into from some of the smaller models and has allowed our business to grow not only in what we can do with the lights but with the amount we can have as well. Feels very sturdy being made out of metal although the keys are plastic, but considering the price its well worth it to advance to this option. Will take a while to out grow this if that is an issue for some people. Another great thing about this option is that its portable and offers the user various amounts of creativity that can be easily saved to a scene and then a chase if desired.

this is a very easy lightboard to run. I use this at church every week to run lights for the band on Wednesday night on sunday I play drums so cant really do both. But once you get to messing around with this board it is very easy everything is set up right there for you to use once you get your lights hooked up to it of course. like the first slider is a red and if you take the third slider which is a blue you can make a purple just like mixing colors together in art class there is also a strobe feature within the board and ability to have each light fixture be a diffrent color and have all of your lights on a single channel and have all the lights change when you tell it to there is also a channel system that allows you to press a button and it takes you toa preset color which isent as fun
