The Vox VFS5 5-Button Footswitch is an essential accessory for the Vox Valvetronix VT15 and VT30 amps. Use the VFS5 to switch programs, turn reverb or other effects on and off, or make speed/tap settings using your foot. This flexibility is a great advantage when you're creating sounds or performing live. The VFS5 footswitch employs a tough steel design with traditional mechanical foot switches and an extra-long 5-meter integral jack lead. The Vox VFS5 footswitch currently works only with the following Vox Valvetronix amplifiers: VT15, VT30, VT50, and VT100.

The VFS5 footswitch is of the highest quality and I am very glad that I purchased this to go with my Vox VT50 amp. The footswitch completes the amp package making it easy to change amp settings without getting up from playing and searching for your next desired sound. This is an essential item if you want to get the most out of your Vox VT amp purchase. I feel this is probably the best set up for the hobbyist or the small gig player, as I researched equipment for several months before purchasing. One beautiful amp with the tool to get the sounds you want at the touch of the footswitch. Highly recommend.

Bad Design

I can live with the cheap feet, the funny feel of the switches and the extra size. But, switching intermittently without me even touching the unit is a problem. It seems to work alright in less electrically noisy environments. But, get a few pedals with power supplies, a dodgy ground and crank it up, and you may end up on a different channel suddenly.... To add insult to injury, there isn't even any good info out there about the recieve end of the switch (inside the amp). I was able to find info about the VFS5 itself that someone back-engineered. From this, I think I know what the issue is, but it's not a simple fix. Midi or the interface from the old ADA multi-button switches would have been a much better design choice. So, if you aren't going to gig with it, it'll work when it works. But, this thing is far from reliable...

    The Guitar Center webpage suggests that the foot switch is not compatible with the VT40X, but is compatible with the 15W, 30W, 50W, etc. This is incorrect. According to the Vox website, the Vox foot switch works perfectly fine with the 40W Valvetronix amp.

    This footboard simplifies the changing of.channels and effects nicely for my VT40. Definitely makes live use easier.

    I have this for the VOX VT40X, and it works flawlessly, just like advertised. The only way to improve this would be to put status lights on each channel (it only has one green/red light for the bank switch), but that would necessitate a different cable hookup. This has a LONG cable with it that terminate in a 1/4" TRS plug. This is built like a tank, and I'm very happy with it.

    This footswitch is compatible for my Vox VT40X. It easily can change from my 8 presets. The cable can reach approximately 15 feet away from the amp. I love this thing. It was constructed very well. (A little heavy though) It is simple enough to use.
