Thick Core Means Deeper Tone & Easier Playing

I am one of Guitar Center's Luthiers. I decided to try these on my personal Frankenstrat. My background is a licensed engineer who plays hair metal. People are always asking me for strings that are easier to play, but with good full tone. I placed a set on my strat and discovered that the normally floating 1/8" above the top bridge was laying on the top. I loostened the claw to raise the bridge, but the bridge did not raise. Out came the engineering calcs to figure out what was happening. The core of these strings is thicker than other strings, and that means that less tension on the string, and, therefore the neck and bridge guitar system is required to tune the string to pitch. That also means your fingers push against less tension to make notes and perform bends - therefore, the string is easier to play. The larger core also makes a deeper, fuller tone. So, as the wrapped strings are the same diameter as competitors, the thicker core of the Cleartone than other strings causes the Cleartone to have less tension on the guitar, therefore easier to play, and a deeper tone. Science and my guitar show these strings are easier to play and bend with a slightly deeper fuller tone than other strings with smaller cores and fuller larger diameter wraps.

I am glad that Cleartone makes a hybrid set. The strings last a really long time, even with my extremely oily hands. A quick rub-down with rubbing alcohol and they are good as new! I practice daily, and have worship rehearsal on Thursday with service on Wednesday and 2 services on Sunday. They bend well, and have a pretty good tone. A hair brighter and not quite as fat sounding as the DR Dimebag 9-46's that I use for recording, but for live use, I use these because they last so much longer. I play an American Tele with noiseless pickups a maple fretboard and a Parker Dragonfly with an ebony fretboard and DiMarzio's, and these give the pickups plenty to work with. They handle both dripping cleans and heavy distortion with clarity and articulation. Overall great strings!
The only string I use now
