This simple shield improves the sound tremendously, as well as your relationship with the crowd & the sound man. Highly recommended. Only problem is the hinges aren't as good as they could be. The competition uses a better hinge.

To reviewer Robert - the "bright blue" is just a film that it ships with so it doesn't scratch, you're supposed to peel it off...(slaps forehead with palm of hand). That said, I would note that these do scratch easily which is annoying.

  • . They could have both designed and executed this better

Using this to isolate the sound of a guitar on stage in a live recording situation. It works, 2 issues...It's an ugly bright blue (not white as pictured). ...and, it's awkward to carry because of the width of the panels. Might have been smarter to use 4 panels which could have folded into a more manageable shape. Other than that, it's fine, if a little expensive for what it is.

I needed this years ago! Lessens the hurt of my jcm 900 but also takes away certain tones. With EQ work it it's all good! Get it.

I have a small recording studio set up in my house. I'm a 58 year old 70's guitar head. I play more than guitar now. I was trying to put a guitar track down after the drum track (I work alone) and I couldn't hear the drums, even though I was under studio headphones going for a nice balanced recording. My half stack was blowing me out. I gave this a try, not sure but willing to try it to get some relief. It worked out very well. I put a mic between my half stack and the barrier, (I leave about two feet of space in front min.) and get a good quality sound for recording without getting my hair blown off. I use it when I practice for the same reason. I can crank it and drive the amp to get a good sound without it blowing me out. I'm sure it has it's limits, but for the volumes I'm using (Marshall 15W Dual Channel Tube Amp, much louder than I thought 15 watts could every be) it's perfect. I'm sure if you were going to play out live, and wanted to mic your amp to you PA instead of delivering the sound from the amp to your audience (sometimes loud, in their face, unbalanced sound) this would work nicely. It was a little pricey I though, but if you have a need to dampen the volume without compromising the sound, this works great.

  • Perfect for my needs

This shield works fine I might add foam sound barrier to kill some of the reflective qualities of plexiglass

About 40". It's not suitable for drums. You need a drum shield; "Control Acoustics 5-Piece Acrylic Drum Shield"
