Cordoba C12: Comparing solid European spruce and Canadian cedar Tops

Cordoba C12 Demo: Comparing solid Canadian Cedar and solid European Spruce tops #2

Natalia (Vals Venezolano No. 3) - Cordoba C12 CD Demo by Tavi Jinariu

Description
The Cordoba C12 CD classical guitar fuses old world craftsmanship with cutting edge design. This nylon string guitar features a solid cedar top with an intricate hand inlaid pearloid rosette, inspired by a 1920s Domingo Esteso design. The solid Indian rosewood back incorporates a striking flamed maple wedge for visual depth. Modern changes include an elevated ebony fingerboard and adjustable truss rod, allowing effortless access to higher frets. The C12 CD's lattice braced top and premium tonewoods produce rich, balanced tones with a quick response. For musicians seeking an heirloom quality classical guitar with contemporary playability, the Cordoba C12 CD is an unparalleled choice.
Hand Selected Tonewoods Deliver a Lifetime of Beauty
The C12 CD's solid Canadian cedar top and Indian rosewood back and sides are hand selected for visual beauty and tonal excellence. The cedar top provides a quick response and harmonic tones, while the rosewood back and sides add warmth, depth and projection. A flamed maple wedge between the rosewood back plates creates an eye catching accent. These premium tonewoods only improve with age, giving the C12 CD a voice that will mature over decades of playing.
Lattice Bracing Opens Up the Sound
Cordoba's signature lattice bracing supports the C12 CD's solid cedar top, allowing it to vibrate freely. This bracing style produces open, resonant tones with a quick bloom. The bracing pattern includes a series of small wooden slats that help transmit string energy to the top. The result is a broad tonal range and sustain, with clear, ringing highs and a rich low end.
Playability Enhancements Provide Effortless Action
While the C12 CD has a traditional nylon string shape and appointments, Cordoba incorporated several playability enhancements. An elevated ebony fingerboard allows comfortable access beyond the 10th fret. An adjustable truss rod helps keep the neck straight under string tension. A slightly narrower 52mm nut width suits players transitioning from steel string acoustics. These attributes, combined with a lightweight build and ergonomic contours, result in an instrument that is a joy to play for long periods.
Includes a Custom Cordoba Case
The C12 CD comes with a Cordoba humidified archtop hard case to properly protect your investment. The case's arched lid provides extra headroom for the guitar's fretboard extension. An integrated humidifier helps keep the solid woods stable in any climate. With gold hardware and a plush black interior, the case is an attractive complement to the guitar's aesthetic.

High Quality & Affordable
I've had this for several months now. I was apprehensive buying it sight unseen. I wanted a high quality affordable classical guitar for performance without a cutout. I did a lot of research online and went with the Cordoba C12. I've been very pleased with it. It's not a guitar for the beginner. Yeah, you wouldn't know it's from China, but it's construction is superb, well balanced, and intonation is great. This is not a cheap looking or sounding guitar. The lattice bracing really makes a difference in volume and sustain. For the serious guitarist on a budget, this demands your consideration.

Sold as new. Had scratches and pick marks.
I'm a big fan of Cordoba and (I thought), a decent GC customer with a dozen or so transactions over the last few years. RECOMMEND THE GUITAR, NOT THE STORE;.

It sounds great and plays well, but it is certainly not worth the price as a new product. I would recommend purchasing used.
Beautiful guitar with very nice sound!

Played as a young man in the 70s. Have not played in years, Son and grandson continued the guitar tradition in the family. With retirement time on hand I wanted to start playing again. The Cordoba C12 CD has proven itself to be everything i need and expected at this point in my musical journey. I also have a Cordoba GK Pro Negra. Both of these were purchased from Musicians Friend and I could not ask for better products or service. The Cordoba C12 CD is {imho) the best classical guitar on the market for the money invested.

I was looking to upgrade my kid's guitars. They have both been playing for six years now. Their teacher suggested that I check these out. She said that for the money, they can not be beat. I have to agree. Both guitars look fantastic and sound amazing. They sound sound insanely good in a concert hall. I must say that I was a bit apprehensive ordering two new guitars sight unseen, but I am very happy. Thanks Cordoba!
Insanely Good!
