Cordoba C5-CE SP Classical Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural

Description
The C5-CE SP is a revolutionary nylon-string acoustic-electric guitar from Cordoba. Featuring a solid Englemann spruce top and mahogany back and sides, the C5-CE SP produces a warm yet balanced tone with impressive projection. The onboard Fishman Presys II preamp gives players full control over their amplified tone, allowing the C5-CE SP to shine on stage. A soft cutaway provides comfortable access to the upper frets for soloing, while traditional Spanish-style appointments like the carved headstock, wood rosette and glossy finish give the C5-CE SP an upscale, handcrafted feel.
Solid Spruce Top Radiates Clear, Powerful Tone
The C5-CE SP's solid Englemann spruce top is the foundation for its robust, resonant tone. Spruce is a lightweight, responsive wood that produces a wide range of overtones, resulting in a tone that is both complex and balanced. Strummed arpeggios ring out with bell-like clarity, while single notes are warm and full. The spruce top gives the C5-CE SP a voice suited for any style, from brisk picados to lyrical melodies.
Fishman Presys II Preamp Provides Studio-Quality Plugged-In Tone
Thanks to the Fishman Presys II preamp, the C5-CE SP delivers outstanding amplified tone for both live performance and recording. The Presys II preamp picks up the natural nuances of the spruce top and mahogany body and provides control over EQ, volume and tone. Roll off the highs for a mellow jazz sound or boost the mids for crisp fingerstyle. An onboard tuner ensures you're always in tune, even on a dark stage. For nylon-string players seeking a professional-grade acoustic-electric, the C5-CE SP is an exceptional choice.
Lightweight Mahogany Body Resonates Effortlessly
The C5-CE SP's mahogany back and sides are lightweight yet rigid, providing an ideal tonal complement to the resonant spruce top. Mahogany produces a focused midrange and controlled bass response, enhancing the spruce top's complex overtones with subtle warmth and depth. Whether practicing at home or performing all night, you'll find the C5-CE SP an inspiring instrument.
Traditional Spanish Appointments and Playability
From the carved headstock to the wood rosette and Savarez strings, the C5-CE SP is built in the tradition of classical Spanish luthiery. Indian rosewood binding accents the body, highlighting the woods beneath. The mahogany neck has a comfortable C profile, with a 12-fret joint for balanced tension. And the pau ferro fingerboard is smooth and responsive. With premium components and timeless esthetics, the C5-CE SP delivers an experience no digital effects can match.

I knew it had a high action when I purchased it but upon closer inspection when I got home if looked much worse and the neck seemed to have a reverse bend. Also had really bad intonation up the neck. Not being an expert about guitars I took it to a luthier for a professional set up. He informed me the neck had a very bad twist and reverse bend that would cost almost twice the price of the guitar to fix. I returned it to GC for a full refund. I hope they did not put it back on the rack.
Nice nylon for the price point

Good construction, nice tone woods, fretboard needs to be worn in a bit, otherwise nice playability out of the box.

I've been a classical guitar student for quite some time now. I started on a student Yamaha. This Córdoba is ideal. This guitar makes no compromises. The solid-body soundboard is perfect for percussion accents, my favorite are those involved in playing rumbas and bulerías. Amazing guitar over all.

I use it for professional singer/songwriter and Christian hymns or Jazz versatility. Works well with my Luna baritone uke.
This one is a keeper!

I originally purchased a slimline Córdoba with spalted maple back and sides that looked amazing and was very playable but just didn't have the depth I was looking for. I tried several other models out but this one really sounded perfect to my ear. I've been playing it for over a week now and I can say without reservation I am very happy to have gone with this one.

I am very impressed with this guitar. I was in the market for my first classical/nylon string guitar, and initially wanted something super cheap. I knew that it would be more wise to spend a bit more and get something that I would be happy with for many years, and having onboard electronics for direct recording really appealed to me. This is my first classical guitar as I mentioned, but I have played a few others. The spruce top wood on this model is beautiful, and gives the tone such clarity and purity. I was truly impressed with not only the looks and finish of this beautiful instrument, but the tone and playability also blew me away. I enjoy playing it more than my steel string acoustic now! It just sounds so sweet and lush. Having the tuner and Fishman electronics is a huge plus, but it sounds incredible unplugged too. Very warm, resonant, full bodied, but also incredibly pure and detailed. Love this thing! You can't go wrong with this choice, amazing instrument.

I am confused. Asked this question before. Don't understand the answer about replacing the battery. I have 2 martin acoustic electric steel strings. Only battery I have ever been aware of is the 9 volt that's inserted into the provided compartment on the side. This guitar has the same compartment. So, what is this about removing the strings and replacing via the sound hole? Sorry for my ignorance, but I have had my martin steel strings for several years and this has never come up. Is it different for nylon strings? Are there really two different batteries--one for the nine volt compartment on the outside, and another for inside the soundhole? Thanks for your patience.
I apologize for the confusion It's by the output jack, not in the per-amp. It's 9 V. I don't know when your Martins were built. My Martin has everything in the sound hole.submitteda year ago

What is very best amplifier for tis guitar? Also, question was asked how to replace battery. Does it really go in the soundhole and requires removing the strings?
1) Yes, that's the way it's done now. My Martin is the same way.submitted3 years ago

What does c5 ce sp mean from Cordoba cuitars
I’m sorry, the manufacturer has not made that information available. The SP has the additional cutaway.
