CinchFit: Acoustic Jack Lock

D'Addario

collapse expand iconDescription

The D’Addario Planet Waves Acoustic CinchFit is the fast and easy way to attach your strap to most acoustic guitars with endpin output jacks. Endpin jacks are notorious for creating hassles when applying and removing standard guitar straps, and usually require modification to the strap which results in a less-than-desirable fit. The Acoustic CinchFit loops through the end of any instrument strap and its cinch clamping action allows easy application and removal, utilizing the weight of the instrument to remain locked onto the endpin so your guitar is always held securely.

It's true: ingenious solution to age old problem

The tag line is correct: it is an "ingenious solution to an age old problem." I no longer have to alter guitar straps to fit over jack plugs. I bought one just to try it out. After my first gig using the Cinchfit, I ordered four more. Now, I've got one on all my acoustic guitars.

Does not work for my Taylor with ES endpin jack

Needed for my 2010 Taylor 614CE with 1st-gen Expression System. Endpin has wide diameter to accommodate 1/4" jack and the space between flange and guitar body is narrow, which makes it difficult to fit a leather strap properly. If I am playing "unplugged", strap has a nasty habit of popping off and guitar falling at awkward moments during performance. CinchFit seemed like the perfect solution, but sadly the CinchFit is too thick to work with the ES jack/pin. Works fine with my mandolin so it wasn't a total loss. I would recommend only to those with standard endpins--does not work with all plug-in endpin jacks.

This is a great solution if you are tired of working your guitar strap over your end pin jack. Very secure and easy to use, but not quite universal. I have a Walden guitar that has a jack that is too shallow to fit this, but it works on all standard jacks.

The cinch-fit is a great idea, but only works well if you can shorten your guitar strap by the length of the cinch-fit. It doesn't work on my strap so must change to a cheap strap.
