I would buy again for a 4/4 violin but not a 16 inch viola.

A great fine tuner that fits a violin in a novel way. It is sensitive and quick. It is not designed to fit the thicknes of a large viola.

This tuner is unobtrusive so I can leave it on the fiddle while performing and check tuning between tunes even on a loud stage.

The adjustable tuner fits nicely on the upper bout. Rubber feet protect the instrument's finish. The screen is easy to see and read. It is also useful to check intonation when practicing finger patterns.
My favorite tuner!

Attaches to the violin where you can easily see it while you play. Since it's on your violin, it only hears your pitch and not any other instruments around you so you can use it during rehearsals, probably even concerts if you wanted. I wish it was big enough to put on my viola.
Works great!

Really happy with this tuner. I like small it is. Doesn't take up much room in the case. Display is easy to see.

Couldn't find this item in stock anywhere in Nashville but I did find it on the web under Guitar Center and they delivered it in time for Christmas! Great gift for the price (price online plus shipping was a little less than local retail!) Did I mention that I purchased 2 of this item and both gift receivers were elated; one wished he had gotten his earlier!) These tuners are accurate, easy to install and to use...no wonder they are hard to find in stock in Nashville!

Can this tuner be used for tuning a mandolin?
They have the same string tuning, so it should work.
