It actually works!
I was skeptical that I really needed a "tool" to help me turn the tuning pegs, or that a simple device could really cut string replacement time in half. But I did want something better than needle-nose pliers to cut the ends off, so I decided to give this a shot. Wow! My skepticism was dead wrong -- this thing does everything it's advertised to. It's hard to explain how it winds the strings so much faster, but as soon as you pop it on you'll see how much more gently, evenly and efficiently it works than your fingers ever could. And for the first time, my string ends are cut right down to the peg without losing any traction -- just like a floor model. :) If you're at all interested in what this thing does, buy one. It would be worth three times the price.

Gets the Job Done, Miss My Old One
This is the latest iteration of one of the best guitar gadgets ever invented, and I have to confess to being a D'Addario fanboy in general. I recently lost the Prowinder I bought around 2000 or so, which had a wonderful scoop style pin puller molded into the button turner sleeve that really worked like a charm. Fast forward to the new one, it now has three different molded pin slots instead of just one, but stepped instead of scooped, and the rout not wide enough for the pin to slide all the way in for a positive grip. My Seagull is gonna end up looking like Willie Nelson's Trigger with all the extra scratching and fumbling.... Still beats carrying three separate tools, but I am scratching my head on the resdesign.

The string winder fits many shapes and sizes of tuners, whether it's an electric guitar, acoustic guitar, or even a bass. It's super easy to use, you simply fit the correct size onto the tuner and can wind it very fast and easy. It has a handle connected to the string winder that acts as pliers so you can easily cut your strings once winded. Overall, it's a very simple and easy tool that makes restringing your guitar a lot less time consuming and tedious. I play an electric, so I didn't use the other function for acoustics. If you play guitar or bass, do yourself a favor and buy this!! #sweepstakes
