D'Addario EFT16 Flat Top PB Light acoustic guitar strings are designed for musicians seeking a balanced tone and comfortable playability. With half round phosphor bronze wound strings and a plain steel third, these light gage strings are optimized for performance on flat top acoustic guitars. Their bright, warm and punchy tone is versatile enough for any musical style.

Phosphor Bronze Wound Strings Produce a Warm, Dynamic Tone

The EFT16 Flat Top PB Light strings utilize phosphor bronze wound strings for the bass and treble strings. Phosphor bronze produces a warm yet cutting tone with rich overtones, ideal for flat top acoustics. The plain steel third string provides clarity and definition, balancing the set. Together, these materials create a tone that is versatile, dynamic and pleasing to the ear.

Light Gauge Optimized for Comfortable Playability

With a light gage ranging from .012"–.053", these strings have a slinky, flexible feel that facilitates intricate techniques and bendability. The lighter tension eases fretting pressure, reducing hand fatigue for longer playing sessions. These strings are also precision ground and polished, leaving them semi-flat for a smooth feels. This also reduces unwanted string noise, making them ideal for recording. These are an excellent choice for musicians of all skill levels seeking an acoustic guitar string set optimized for comfort and playability.

Built to Withstand the Rigors of Performance

Like all D'Addario strings, these acoustic guitar strings are precision wound and engineered for unparalleled consistency, tuning stability and intonation. They are built to withstand the rigors of performance while maintaining their tone and playability. With proper care and maintenance, these strings will serve you well for many performances to come.

I bought these expecting smooth and flat string, comparable to how my flat bass strings are that I use. Expecting to have just about noiseless slide and slick smooth surface, I was disappointed they didn't have that feel or smoothness I was expecting. They're also super bright sounding, which I was not expecting. I was looking for a flatter, almost duller sound. Judging from the sound scale Daddario list on the back of the package, they're on the flatter side of the scale, coming after silk and steel, then gypsy jazz. They're more comparable in brightness to an 80/20 bronze, or a phosphor bronze maybe. They may be suitable for some players or styles, just not for and the characteristics I was hoping for. Just wanted to inform anyone expecting what I was, you may try a different brand of flats. They get pricey though.

These are great strings. I put them on my Archtop single neck pickup with floating bridge and they are the best for me. I've tuned it down to D standard tuning. It gives it a wonderful, mellow, rhythmic, deep sound and sustain. They will last forever on the guitar too. They just get better over time. #leftiesunited #sweepstakes #robertmeademusic

These strings are a must try for your steel string acoustical guitar. If you are looking for a stronger, cleaner sound with a lot of fidelity to traditional country blues guitar then these strings just might be what you are looking for.

I play an all mahogany Martin with a satin finish 000- 15 M. It is very sensitive and responsive which is what I wanted, plus I like the look. String noise was a huge problem. I worked on my technique and used a lubricant string spray , but still not satisfied. I liked the mellow sound of silk and steel , but still was getting more string noise than I wanted. The flat tops fixed my problem. almost no string noise at all. They are mellower in tone than regular phosphor bronze, but I prefer that. Daddario mentions that on their string package.

Good feel! Less noise when sliding your fingers on the strings. Some strings sound better but have more noise but these strings sound good with my amp sound set up. It's all in what you like but for me I like these strings enough to buy them.
