D'Addario EJ14 80/20 Bronze Bluegrass Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings

Description
The DAddario EJ14 80/20 Bronze Bluegrass Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings were developed by John D'Addario Sr. to deliver crisp, bright tone perfectly suited for bluegrass and other acoustic styles. They feature an 80/20 bronze wrap wire for a bold, bright sound with lush low end and sparkling highs that guitarists crave. The hexagonal core provides enhanced tuning stability and durability for long-lasting tone and performance. For acoustic players seeking vintage-style tone with powerful projection, the DAddario EJ14 strings are sure to impress.
80/20 Bronze Wrap Wire for Vintage-Inspired Tone
The 80/20 bronze alloy wrap wire gives the EJ14 strings a vintage-style tone rich in overtones and harmonic sparkle. The bright, articulate tone cuts through mixes with clarity and definition, allowing subtle nuances and expressive playing to shine through. The material also provides a balanced tone across all six strings for even response up and down the fretboard.
Hexagonal Core Wire Improves Intonation and Playability
At the heart of the EJ14 strings is a high-carbon steel core wire with a hexagonal shape. The unique shape increases the contact surface between the core and wrap wires, improving tuning stability, tone and playability. The enhanced grip between the windings also reduces slippage, ensuring accurate intonation and pitch for optimal performance. The core's flexibility also makes bending and fretting notes a breeze while retaining tone and clarity.
Vintage-Style Tone and Modern Durability
While the 80/20 bronze material aims to capture a vintage acoustic tone, the EJ14 strings are built to modern standards of durability and longevity. The high-carbon steel core provides strength and consistency through extended playing sessions and tunings. An eco-friendly packaging using recycled and recyclable materials also makes the EJ14 strings an environmentally-conscious choice for today's acoustic performer.

I have experimented with many different types/brands of strings for my Taylor 810 and without a doubt, these fit my playing style perfectly. I am mainly fingerstyle and these strings give a sparkle to the highs while maintaining the strong, deep bass. Medium gauge strings tend to mute the highs a bit. If you play James Taylor and need the clear highs and flexibility to pull off, these are terrific. I have a maple Taylor as well and these are too bright for maple.
