The D'Addario EJ36 12-String 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings are precision-wound to deliver shimmering highs, robust lows and a crisp overall tone. Whether recording in the studio or performing on stage, these strings are designed to bring out the best in your 12-string acoustic guitar.

80/20 Bronze for Resonant Warmth

The 80/20 bronze alloy, also known as brass, produces a warm yet projecting tone that traditionalists and vintage enthusiasts alike will appreciate. Originally selected by John D'Addario Sr. and John D'Angelico in the 1930s, 80/20 bronze strings are a time-tested favorite for their resonant qualities and crisp articulation.

Hexagonal Steel Core for Stability and Intonation

At the heart of each string is a high-carbon steel core with a hexagonal shape, which provides greater stability under tension, improved intonation and reliability over time. The steel core works in harmony with the 80/20 bronze wrap wire to generate a balanced tone with shimmering highs and robust lows.

Corrosion-Resistant Packaging

Each set of EJ36 12-String 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings comes in D'Addario's innovative corrosion-resistant packaging to ensure strings remain fresh from the factory to your guitar. The environmentally-friendly packaging also reduces waste while protecting the strings during storage and transport.

    Great set of strings

I just got a new 12-string, and while the strings it came with were decent enough, they were phosphor bronze, which to me always sound bad, at least compared to 80/20 brass. This set is 80/20, and sounds great as expected. For anyone that plays acoustic and has never tried 80/20's, do yourself a favor and get some. Any brand will do. Much louder, brighter, crisper, just plain better sounding in every way. This is subjective of course, but to me the difference is significant. Occasionally I'll do silk and steel or even put nickel electric strings on an acoustic, but I avoid phosphor bronze (which - sadly - seems to be the industry standard to ship guitars with) like the plague.

    Standard quality

I have used these strings and I would use them again. Their tone is consistent and they produce the sound I need and want. At the same time, I have purchased Rogue brand phosphor-bronze individual strings that are just as good for a fraction of the cost of D'Addario strings. I usually buy these in bulk and they have saved me a lot of money. On quality, I would give D'Addario strings 5 stars, but for price, I graded them down to 3 stars.

I use the 4 octave-higher low E through G strings (plus the 1 each of the unison B and high E strings) on a dumpster-saved acoustic. This allows me to play "Nashville high-strung" guitar parts. Keith Richards on "Wild Horses" can thus be emulated. (The other lower pitched strings can be used on a standard-tuned acoustic.)

    • Nice sounding strings

I bought a Guild 12 string last month and purchased a set of these strings, as I've always been partial to D'Addario. It's my first 12 string and I didn't know what to expect, but after a month of heavy playing, the strings still sound bright and clear and tuning stability is excellent.

Big fan of the feel and sound. My favorite strings to gig with and I play 3 hour shows often. Also love supporting a local brand.
