Description
D'Addario's EXL115BT Balanced Tension Medium Electric Guitar Strings provide guitarists a high-performance set of strings for any style of playing. These nickel-wound strings feature a hexagonal steel core and precision-winding technique for improved intonation, tuning stability and consistent tone. The EXL115BT set is optimized for balanced tension across all six strings, giving players greater control and comfort whether shredding solos, strumming chords or slapping basslines.
Precision-Wound for Bright, Balanced Tone
The nickel-plated steel wrap wire delivers a crisp, snappy attack and long sustain. Combined with the distinctive bright tone of D'Addario XL strings, the EXL115BT set produces a tone that cuts through the mix while maintaining note clarity and definition. The varied gauges, ranging from 11 to 50, provide balanced volume and tension for natural playability.
Hexagonal Steel Core Enhances Stability
At the heart of the EXL115BT strings is a hexagonal steel core. This unique shape increases the contact points between the core and wrap wire, improving tuning stability, intonation and reliability. The core's stiffness also aids in accurately transmitting the vibrations of the wraps to the guitar body and pickups. Players will appreciate how these strings hold pitch and deliver consistent tone.
Roundwound Construction Offers Familiar Feel
The roundwound construction gives the EXL115BT strings a smooth, polished surface and traditional feel. This familiar playing experience allows for seamless transitions between techniques. The strings glide effortlessly under the fingers but still provide enough grip for controlled bends, slides and vibrato.
Corrosion-Resistant Packaging Keeps Strings Fresh
D'Addario packages the EXL115BT strings using corrosion-resistant materials that seal out humidity and oxygen. This ensures the strings stay fresh for their entire lifespan, whether installed right away or stored for later use. The color-coded ball ends also make installation quick and frustration-free.

Much better strings than I expected! Give em a shot
I've tried about every string brand there is just out of pure curiosity over the last 30 plus years. Always ended up going back to Ernie Ball power slinkys. BUT... these daddario exl115 balanced tensions are a real contender for me now. In the past I never liked the way daddario strings felt, but these are different. They have a great feel and tone. I can't say how long they last as I've only had them on a couple weeks. I will say they are a strong string as I'm a very heavy handed player. If they last as long as Ernie ball strings I will be switching to these permanently.

these strings sounded totally lifeless. put them on new jazzmaster with full setup & they sounded dead. the old strings that came on them sounded better. repleaced them the next day with some spare fenders and what a difference - way better. i'm a fan of most things d'addarrio, but not these strings. bought 2 packs, cut one set of my guitar within 24 hours, will try to return the 2nd, unopened pack. truly hated 'em. we use other d'addario strings, fender, dunlop, ghs, & e ball, but these 10-50s were just the worst.

They have a bit heavier feel than the regular 11's bit it gives a really nice fast pick response. I was surprised how much my speed and accuracy increased with these. They still feel good for a sweet vibrato but full step bends, not so much :-)
Great Strings

I have used 11's for years. This set has a 50 for the Low E string, which gives a little more bass to the tone.
i would buy this again

The D'Addario strings are always a good treat for my guitar. I find them to be of better quality when compared to Ernie Ball Slinkys. The XLs feel especially smooth, fast, and durable enough to last a few months. I can always count on Guitar Center for quality and service.
The only strings I would use

The balanced tension is awesome. It allows me to have the same feel across the neck. This makes it more consistent weather playing single notes or bends. Just makes life a lot more comfortable.
I'd buy them again

Would these have enough tension for C# standard on 25 and 25 1/2 scale guitars
D'Addario EXL115BT Balanced Tension Medium strings (gauges: .011, .015, .019, .032, .044, .058) are a solid choice for tuning down to C# Standard (C# F# B E G# C#), especially on 25" and 25.5" scale guitars.
