I live in Arizona. My Taylor 214DLX has developed fret sprout. I installed the maintain humidity packs for the first time 3 weeks ago and still have the issue. Would the restore packs possibly resolve the issue?

Yes, the Humidipak Restore packets are designed to bring up the humidity in a severely dry instrument. They're different from the standard "Maintain" packets, which are intended to keep a stable environment once it's already in a safe range. So in your case—yes, switching to the Restore version is a smart move. They’re specifically for bringing back moisture after prolonged dry exposure, which sounds like what happened to your Taylor. Swap in the Humidipak Restore packets and leave the guitar sealed in its case (ideally hard case) for about 1–2 weeks. Check every few days to feel if the fret sprout is less noticeable—don’t rush it, though. Wood takes time to rehydrate safely. Once the fingerboard swells back and the sprout resolves, switch back to Humidipak Maintain to keep things stable. Sometimes the sprout doesn’t completely go away, especially if the fretwork was tight to begin with or the wood shrunk more than usual. In that case, a tech can do a quick fret end dressing—not expensive and usually a one-time fix if you maintain proper humidity from then on.
