Designed in partnership with Ned Steinberger and NS Design, the D'Addario NS Electric Contemporary Bass Strings can be used on electric instruments to bring out the best in them. Each string is designed to enhance the expressive range of tone sought after by the most discerning players. The set consists of regular tuning strings (G, D, A, E). Additional low B and high C are available as single strings.

The Contemporary Double Bass Set produces a brighter sound and is lower tension than the Traditional Double Bass Set. The NS Electric Contemporary Double Bass Set is designed for electric upright basses with standard playing lengths, but shorter overall lengths (no tailpiece).

All D'Addario strings are designed, engineered and manufactured in the USA to the most stringent quality controls in the industry.

    I just purchased NS bass and I want to play it with a bow. It came with flatwounds but those are not meant for use with a bow Are they? So are these strings meant to be used with bow? Need to know

    It will have a different sound to it, but they can be used with a bow. It will cause the bow threads to wear out faster.
