D'Addario XL Chromes Jazz Light Electric Guitar Strings ECG24 Flatwound

Description
The D'Addario XL Chromes Jazz Light electric guitar strings ECG24 Flatwound provide a velvety smooth tone perfect for jazz and other genres where a warm, round sound is desired. Made of nickel-plated steel, these flatwound strings have a flattened surface that produces little to no finger noise when sliding up and down the neck. The result is a tone that is rich, full and evenly balanced across all six strings. The XL Chromes Jazz Light strings are designed for musicians seeking a traditional jazz guitar tone with a playing feel to match.
Flatwound Construction Provides a Smooth, Noise-Free Performance
The ECG24 Flatwound strings feature D'Addario's flatwound construction, where the string windings are polished to a smooth, flat surface. This eliminates the ridges found on roundwound strings that can produce string noise during sliding techniques. The flat surface allows for faster, slicker slides and a velvety tone with enhanced sustain and clarity. For jazz guitarists, the noise free performance and old school tone of flatwound strings are essential. The XL Chromes Jazz Light flatwound strings deliver on both counts.
Light Gauge for Comfort and Playability
The ECG24 Flatwound strings provide a comfortable playing feel for most guitarists. The lighter tension makes it easy to play barre chords, bend notes and perform other techniques without straining your fingers. Despite the lighter gage, these strings still produce a full, balanced tone across all six strings thanks to their high-quality materials and construction. For jazz guitarists seeking a blend of comfort, tone and playability, the XL Chromes Jazz Light flatwound strings are an ideal choice.
High-Quality Materials for Enhanced Tone and Longevity
Made of nickel-plated steel, the ECG24 Flatwound strings are built to last while providing a rich, balanced tone. The nickel plating helps reduce string corrosion for enhanced longevity and consistency. String breakage is also minimized thanks to precision winding and core to wrap ratios. Overall, these high-quality flatwound strings provide a tone and performance that stands up to the demands of regular practice and performance. For musicians on a budget, the XL Chromes Jazz Light strings are an affordable option with professional level quality and are available today at Guitar Center.

D'Addario ECG24 Jazz/Light \\ Electric Strings
These are some smooth-playing strings! These strings are excellent for jazz as well as any flowing lead that does not include heavy bending. There is no comparison as to the reduction of friction when playing with these strings as compared to playing with regular wound strings. If you get annoyed by the squeeking or slipping sounds with other strings then these are the strings for you! They play smoothly and without any residual sound from your fingers sliding across the strings while playing great lead lines. I would not use these strings if I were playing lead with a lot of heavy bending as they are a little stiff. If you haven't tried these strings at least once I would most definitely recommend them!

as much as i like them..
have been using these for a couple yrs now. Unfortunately, as much as i love them, yesterday upon installing, the high E string broke as i was tuning it. Considering how much more they cost vs average strings.. it's extremely disappointing. I'm very hesitant to continue using going fwd. perhaps I'll give the electric Elixrs a chance.i seen for the first time when purchasing these and if they're anything like their acoustic strings, I'd be very pleased

Needed lighter strings for a BlackStar travel guitar. GC's guitar tech recommended XL Jazz and they were perfect.

Perfect for that smooth and slightly dark jazz sound. No string scraping sounds with these.

In my opinion Chromes are every bit as good as the more expensive Thomastik flats. Try them both. Use your ears and fingers to judge. These 11's are for a jazz box. I also use Chromes 10's on a Casino and they sound great. If you normally use round wound 10's I recommend trying a set of Chromes 10's for a changes of pace and bit of a treat.
