D'Addario XT: Enhanced Tuning Stability|D'Addario Strings

D'Addario

collapse expand iconDescription

D'Addario's XT Phosphor Bronze acoustic guitar strings feature an innovative coating that provides twice the corrosion resistance of uncoated strings, extending tone life dramatically. The coating is so thin, however, that these strings ring out with the same warm, balanced tone that Phosphor Bronze is known for. You can enjoy the natural feel of uncoated strings with the added benefit of longevity. The XT Phosphor Bronze set is custom light, gauged 11-52, perfectly suited for most acoustic guitars. D'Addario is proud to offer these premium, American-made strings.

Advanced Coating, Authentic Tone

D'Addario developed a specialized coating process that adheres directly to the surface of each string, creating an ultra-thin barrier against the elements. Despite this protective layer, the strings produce a full, resonant tone that sounds and feels like traditional uncoated Phosphor Bronze. The coating is undetectable to the musician's touch, providing natural playability in addition to preventing corrosion.

Superior Tuning Stability

Beneath the groundbreaking coating, XT Phosphor Bronze strings feature D'Addario's NY Steel cores and Fusion Twist technology. The hexagonal NY Steel wire grips each winding tightly, resulting in strings that hold tune better than competitors. Fusion Twist is a revolutionary winding process that produces strings with unparalleled resistance to detuning and breakage. Musicians can perform with confidence, knowing each note will ring true.

Earn Reward Points

With every purchase of XT Phosphor Bronze strings, musicians receive a code to register and earn points in D'Addario's Players Circle rewards program. Redeem points for D'Addario gear, exclusive experiences and other perks. This innovative program provides extra value for loyal D'Addario customers.

Premium Quality, American Craftsmanship

D'Addario has been manufacturing high-quality strings for over 300 years, upholding meticulous standards at their New York facility. Over 500,000 strings are produced daily to exacting specifications, using cutting-edge technology and time-honored techniques. XT Phosphor Bronze strings are a testament to D'Addario's commitment to excellence and their mission to serve musicians worldwide.

My initial impression is these strings are really good.

I play a Gibson J35 and it is a bright guitar. I usually try a lot of different strings to find what works best with each guitar I own. I am a fan of John Pearse phosphor bronze strings and they sounded good on this guitar but I ended up I liking DR Sunbeams better. Something about the round cores works with this guitar but I did not like how fast the sound deteriorated. I then tried the Daddario EXP and Nickel Bronze I liked the EXP a little better than the Nickel Bronze. The Nickel Bronze was a little too bright. I have just tried the Daddario XT strings and I like them better than the EXP and the Nickel Bronze. They are little brighter than the EXP and not as bright as the Nickel Bronze. I have only had them on for a week so I can not tell you how well they will age. Out of the package, I like how they sound and feel on the J35. They seem to hold tune as well as the EXP and Nickel Bronze strings which is a benefit of the NY Steel core that Daddario uses. I still like how the DR Sunbeam sound best on this guitar but the durability and tuning stability of the Daddario XT strings are why I am liking them better.

Switching to Elixir

I've been playing for almost 20 years. So I'd like to think I know what I am doing. After spending $20 in total in shipping. I'm restringing one of my instruments and the high E snaps off before I can even wind it all the way to in tune. Not happy. Switching to Elixir strings.

I bought these strings as a replacement set for my Fender Acoustasonic Jazzmaster. IMO, they're better than the Fender strings it came with and are a solid replacement.

  • Always consistent sound and longevity with these strings

I'm a long time D'addario user, these are always a great sound on all of my acoustic guitars. They last a long time and stay consistent and in tune. Great sound, great price!

I recently purchased a Yamaha Acoustic guitar. I didn't go too expensive because I'm just picking it up as a hobby. Attempting to tune the guitar on my own, a string popped. I am trying to purchase new strings as I was told that I should keep some around. I notice that some of the packages have different numbers on them. I'm assuming its based on the tensity. Is it okay to put a new string that may or may not be of the same group of strings originally put on guitar? I don't know what strings to purchase.

The numbers are the gauges of the string. The strings you have are probably .11 or .12. It is best to have the same grouping to assure that you have the correct gauge string. You could replace all the strings with a new set or bring to a guitar tech to get some help with the correct gauge. The XT Acoustic strings would probably be fine.
