Introducing D'Addario XT

D'Addario XT: Enhanced Tuning Stability|D'Addario Strings

Description
D'Addario's XT Acoustic Phosphor Bronze strings combine their popular acoustic alloy with an advanced treatment on every string, providing musicians enhanced pitch stability and longevity while maintaining an uncoated feel. Designed for 6 and 12-string acoustic guitars, the XT line is available in extra-light to medium gauges. The XT Acoustic Phosphor Bronze 10-47 set offers an extra-light gauge perfect for musicians seeking a balanced tone and comfortable playability.
Groundbreaking Treatment Protects Tone
D'Addario developed an innovative hydrophobic coating for the XT line that shields each string from the damaging effects of moisture and sweat. While protecting the strings, this micro-thin treatment allows the natural harmonics and tone of the Phosphor Bronze alloy to ring through fully. Musicians can enjoy the familiar bright, warm and balanced sound they expect from Phosphor Bronze strings for an extended period.
Enhanced Longevity and Performance
The advanced coating on each string in the XT set allows for enhanced longevity and consistent performance over time. Resistant to corrosion, the strings maintain their tone and intonation even after heavy playing. Musicians can rely on the XT set to deliver vibrant tone and accurate pitch for an extended period before needing replacement.
High-Carbon Steel Core Promotes Break Resistance
At the core of each wound string in the XT set is a high-carbon steel wire, the same found in D'Addario's NYXL and Nickel Bronze lines. This hexagonal core provides more surface area for the winding, resulting in improved break resistance and consistent performance. The steel core, combined with the advanced coating, allows each string to withstand the stresses of aggressive playing styles without sacrificing tone or tuning stability.
Trusted Quality and Craftsmanship
As with all D'Addario products, the XT line is manufactured to the highest standards of quality and consistency. D'Addario controls every step of the string-making process, from initial wire drawing to applying the advanced microcoating. This end-to-end craftsmanship produces strings musicians can rely on to deliver the tone, feel and performance they demand. The XT Acoustic Phosphor Bronze set provides players vibrant, long-lasting tone and the familiar uncoated feel of their favorite strings.

My environment is very humid and all strings rust. Except these. They get a little wanky after three or four months, so I change them. They have a great sound, similar to slinkys, which are my favorite (but they rust really quickly). Also they don't get all fuzzy like elixers. I might also add I've never broken any, which is pretty cool.

Are these strings good for a beginner? Are they easier to play than heavier gauge?
Yes, the lighter the gauge, the easier it will be to fret the string
