Great uke! I've had a couple of lower cost ukes before and the difference bet those and this one are night and day. It's a blast to play and sounds great. Highly recommend, especially if you can snag during a sale....don't hesitate if you've been wanting a good uke.
It's a blast!

This little instrument is just a lot of fun to goof around with. try to figure songs out on this that you know how to play on guitar. Silly songs that you wouldn't play on a guitar are fun to play on this. It's a real good time.
Looks not everything

Good looking. Action was high but manageable. Saddle was not properly leveled and had extremely rough spots as if never sanded at all. Nut needed work with slots cut too deep. Guitar center did a twenty minute setup and good to go.
Disappointed. Pretty instrument. Action? No go.

As a former professional guitarist, I enjoy trying different instruments. This uke was on special for a huge discount so I took a chance. The poorly packed box arrived barely hanging together, but the inner box was not damaged. Took the uke out, tuned it up and tried a few chords. Tone was ok but the action was high. Really high. I looked online at ideal string heights and saw this was not cutting it. Looked at the saddle and calculated that there wasn't going to be enough left after sanding down the amount that would have to go. Took it to local Guitar Center and had their tech look at it. He agreed that I should not even try, so they sent it back. I've seen a huge range of quality on D'Angelico products. I have one of their jazz arch tops that's terrific, but I've seen some D'Angelico acoustic guitars in stores that had notable issues. This purchase shows the peril of buying an instrument that you can't try out in the store first. But Guitar Center was very accommodating in sending it back, and for that I'm grateful.
