DR Strings

collapse expand iconDescription

The first thing you notice with DR Drop-Down Tuning Guitar strings is how stable they are. DDT strings maintain their intonation at lower tunings far better than other strings you may have played or heard. Players say DR DDT guitar strings are so stable it is almost eerie.

Now you can "stand and deliver" in-tune notes at lower pitches that are clean and clear-plus you can drop tune with confidence and accuracy. You'll be surprised how few adjustments you'll make to change tunings and will be even more surprised how well DR Drop-Down Tuning strings lock into tune.

Experienced players comment: "Tuned down, I was never able to play a favorite riff. It always came out muddy and garbled. Now it is crystal clear. I am going to record it and give it to my bandmates, who could not hear it before."

DR DDT strings deliver far more than just heavy gauges-they deliver impeccable tone.

Mega Heavy gauges: 13-17-22-42-56-65.

I just love spiders, they're so creepy and crawly and cute. And this box has a big ole spider on it, and for my money you cannot beat that with a wooden stick. It's a pretty yellow and black box with geetar strings in it that aren't very good, but man that spider keeps me coming back.

I play mostly metal (death, dent, metalcore) I threw these on my Schecter Devil Custom and they sound great. YOU WILL NEED TO FILE YOUR BRIDGE AND NUT FOR THE LOW END STRINGS. Thankfully mine was already done and the tone and response of these strings in Drop B is amazing.

  • Best in drop Bb

These are great strings except for the g string, which has a weird almost 12 string kinda tone. Other than that, tension is great in drop Bb, a little loose in drop A (but not much), and a little tight in drop B. you might be able to pull off drop C if you are a rhythm player, or like high tension, but for drop C would go with 12-60 set or 11-50.

  • Awesome for low tuning!

these sound incredible at the B and A range. Particularly A because they are so thick. I dont play in F but they still hold tune and tension amazingly. They sound sharp and are very lively strings. Im going to try the 10-60 next week. the 65 gauge is a little to big for versatility. I plan on buying a third guitar and that will have these strings designated to it.

I've seen comments on string gauges such as 13-65, 11-54, and 12-62. What do those mean and what would these ddt strings be considered
