An excellent set of strings
I replaced a factory set of strings on my recently purchased Ibanez SR 250 to the DR Pure Blue set and the change was immediately noticed. No more fret buzz and the sound was like the bass sound I was looking for. Deep,Heavy and full of punch. the best set of strings I have had on my Bass and I have used D' Addario and Rotosound strings for many years. on my JB .

These strings are comfortable, decent texture and tension, and regarding tone, they have interesting character. However, they are too bright for my taste and the E and G strings were nearly impossible to intonate. I did in fact follow the DR instructions to crimp before trimming, as I do that with every string change regardless of the brand, but I still had great difficulty intonating the E and G strings, though once that was over with, the strings stayed in tune very well. Overall, too fussy and the treble frequencies are too brittle for my taste. #sweepstakes

OK so I gave these strings a bit more time to settle down, put them back down on my bass, meticulously went over my setup to make sure I didn't goof up the strings. I can honestly say that after a couple weeks, they actually do sound quite good. Also got the intonation dialed in this time. I actually do recommend these strings, but give them extra time to break in.

The nickle wrapped Pure Blues are such a treat to the ears. Able to move between any style I am capable of playing, these strings can do it all. DR strings are on all my basses - Legends on my P's, Pure Blues on my Jazz's and Low Riders on my Sadowsky. Great string to string balance and long lasting tone.
