Gauges 12, 16, 24, 32, 42, 54.

Light RARE Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Strings are a departure from the standard, good-quality bronze string currently available – not necessarily better, but possessing a new, different, and stronger voice. Hand-carved archtops, dreadnoughts, and good steel string acoustic guitars of rosewood, maple, and mahogany benefit from a distinct improvement in tone, depth, and sustain with a fatter, louder sound and a deeper bottom.

This is the third set of these I've purchased. They have good life and still had good tone on both lower and upper end when I replaced them. (About 30 days of 1+ playing hours each day.) I've tried numerous other strings looking for the right tone and playability. I think I found what I was looking for.

I love the quality of these strings. I have been using them for years and I have never been disappointed in them at all.

I put these on my Greg Bennett OM3. It's an all sapele, all laminate box. They sweetened the sound of the tinny trebles. Slide very smooth but still squeak of course. Feel great on the fingers. They are the loudest strings I've ever had. They settled in and held their tuning within minutes. The cheap guitar is always in tune. Never had strings perform like this. I play 90 minutes every night and the strings sound fresh after a month or more. They're showing no sign of corrosion or wear. However, I don't like the overall tone they give to this particular guitar. I used them to replace the cheapest Martin P.B. which are not my favorite strings, and the Martins sounded better. After much experimenting, D'Addario PB lights are the best string for my OM3. I'm going to try the Rare Bluegrass version on my Yamaha FG730S, and will review those in the future. These DR Rare strings have a lot going for them, and are relatively inexpensive. Try them and see how they sound on your guitar.

I bought these strings for a Guild M-120 that I have. I heard they might sound good with Mahogany body guitars. These strings were a disappointment from the get-go. The B string was defective and had obvious nicks right where you strum and also about 4" higher. I took the guitar back to Guitar Center to show the strings to the sales person. They were nice enough to give me an extra single Ernie Ball B string for when the defective string breaks which I would expect to be any day now.The strings also sound a little "tinny" to me. I think I'll go back to the Earthwood strings which I'm sorry I took off the guitar to try these out.

I have tried a lot of different strings on my Epiphone AJ200scena and i decided to give dr strings a try, man was i suprised these strings brought out my guitars true tone, the tone ive been striving after. I like the martin guitar sound and play bluegrass and gospel style music, these strings give me that bassy and balanced treble sound i was looking for. Good job dr.
