Fabulous. Solid. I use it for a drum set, for playing a Roland RD2000, and even for sitting at the DAW (computer.)

What a difference! Great throne! I don't know how I managed w/out it. For me, the biggest PLUS about this throne is that I am better balanced - my posture is much improved. This results in better timing, better coordination, better footwork, better vision, less fatigue and less back strain, etc. Had I known there would be such a noticeable improvement, I would have ditched my old throne long ago and bought DW's throne. It's a real difference-maker. Pricey, but worth every penny.

I bought one of the 9000 series thrones about 11 years ago, and then sold my entire kit about 2 years ago. I'm again putting together another DW kit, and had to get this seat again. The thing is...they've made some awesome improvements. I totally dig the way the locking clamp works. The previous one I had was not this well built and designed.

CHEAP THRONES ARE NOT WORTH IT! Besides all the ways they limit you and break, they will totally hurt your bum. There is pretty good mid level stuff out there. They are not DW. This thing is solid, comfortable, fully adjustable, and a gift you give yourself. The round seat is better if your an animated showman than the tractor style as well. If you plan on drumming your entire life...Buy It.

The DW 9100 Standard Round is as solid as a rock and worth every penny! The seat can be tightened down so that even the heaviest or most aggressive of players can move without fear of stripping the bolt or cutting the pipe holding the seat. The seat material and the base is extra sturdy and wide. The seat adjusts to a very tall setting, if necessary, and locks down tight with a double-locking/memory-lock mechanism. I never fully appreciated the value of having a seat that required no attention or concern. I recently bought one for my church's new drum set and loved it so much that I've just bought another for my personal kit.
