DW’s quick-release cymbal stand wing nut has been in development for quite some time. The spring-loaded mechanism is smooth and precise, allowing drummers to either thread their cymbals on in the traditional manner, or skip the process with a pinch of their thumb and forefinger. The QR Wing Nut (DWSM2346) includes an integrated top cymbal felt with nylon washer and is sold as a DW Factory Accessory™ 2-pack that fits all DW cymbal stands with an adjustable cymbal seat.

    Can't believe I waited 40 years to get these quick-release cymbal nuts! What was I thinking??? Best money I've ever spent. I have up to six cymbals that require stands for any given show. Instead of 20 to 30 seconds screwing cymbal nuts on and off, it's now one second on and one second off; and, I don't drop wing nuts anymore and have to go looking for them on my hands and knees in the dark! Thirty seconds doesn't sound like a lot of time, but multiply that by two ( on and off) times six cymbals, two or more shows a week, and the time adds up! Anything that gets me set up and taken down faster is a keeper.
