The DW Drums HardCore can help you achieve the desired amount of attack by easily adjusting the level of contact the core has with the drum head. When playing soft, the beater acts much like a felt beater, but when struck hard, it has all the attack of a hard plastic or wood drum beater ball.

Best beater on the market

I've played the older DW101 beater for years on my DW9000 pedal, and felt technique had plateau. This new hardcore beater has subtly transformed my foot for the better. It's a very well weighted beater. I'm quicker now and my double-hits are just more solid and consistent. The adjustment option between harder/softer is brilliant. This beater sets a new standard of performance. If it's good enough for Carter Beauford (who from pics used to use the Puresound beater), it's good enough for me. Worth the money. Thanks DW engineers!!

Double Bass?!

I bought two of these beaters today. On my drumset i have a Tama Iron Cobra with a slave pedal hooked up to my single bass drum. As soon as i put these on i noticed how wide they really were. They are too wide to play without them colliding. I tried putting them as far apart as possible, but it puts my pedal's chains at an angle which im afraid might mess them up. I did try them individually and they feel very light weight and nice. I would recommend these to someone who plays single bass or who has a two bass drum set.

This is a well made bass drum beater with the option to make it a soft response or a hard plastic response. Easily adjusted with a standard drum key.

I am still kind of new to drumming (I have a Simmons Titan 70 e-Kit) with DW9000 pedals, I bought these beaters because I noticed when I would try to do fast double right foot hits, my foot would come off of the pedal slightly. I studied what was happening and it seemed there was too much mass in the beater. if my foot started to raise before the beater hit the drum, then there was lift off as the beater continued its journey forward. I bought these because they were supposed to be lighter than the stock beaters. First, I noticed a huge difference in weight immediately when comparing the old ones to these. but once i put them on my pedals, it was like magic happened. I was able to do fast double right foot hits with no lift off, as well as my double bass playing was immediately faster and much smoother than before. I Play an e-Kit, so I love that I can back the plastic beater 1/8 inch into the foam and just hit the pads with the foam part of the beater and save my bass mesh heads as much as possible. I bought this for the lightweight and it ended up being a great investment that really helped my playing. I do not know about the longevity, but I love the design and the red anodized back plates really look trick. If mine broke tomorrow, I would buy another pair. that's how much I like them after only using them for a week now.

These beaters are absolutely excellent for use with Roland V-Drums (or any mesh heads, for that matter). The weight is excellent, you can make the core flush with the foam head, and they just go and go and go. I have been using the same pair of these for about 3 years now, without issue. The foam has worn a little bit, but that's to be expected. They are nowhere near needing to be replaced. Get these and you won't regret your purchase.

  • Excellent for E-drums

This beater is well balanced, and the weight is very effective. I play a Roland TD-30, and the foam on this beater reacts well with the mesh heads. I have the plastic center backed off the face by almost 1/8th inch, and the rebound is awesome.

  • Glad I purchased

I have two of these mounted on my Iron Cobra double kick and theyre amazing. I can play very quick and each and each and every hit is defined and they sound great. They are a little bit wide but not wide enough to touch each other when on my Iron Cobra but could be a problem with other pedals. I highly recommend these beaters to anyone looking for some lightweight beaters that are extremely versatile.
