    You cannot go wrong with DW gear. They are always more pricey, but it's worth it in the end. I'm the type of guy who will buy used gear or knock-off brand to save a buck as I'm broke. But seeing as how the bane of every drummer's existence with older gear is their hi-hat clutch, i decided to get DW. It's fantastic. They've figured out the problem with every other clutch issue where the nut comes undone and added a lock via drum key. That sucker ain't coming out! Not only does it keep it in place, but you can choose where you want it too. It's VERY tight once you screw it in. It's almost too tight actually so I don't jam the drum key lock in too much. So far so good. Now if only I could afford a DW hi-hat stand...
