Darkglass 212 1,000W 2x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet Gray

Description
Lightweight and powerful, the Darkglass 212 bass speaker cabinet delivers seismic lows and articulate mids, courtesy of two custom-voiced 12" speakers and a bi amp design with 500W per side. Sporting an ultrasturdy plywood construction, it provides the kind of rugged dependability that's essential for life on the road.
1,000W of Pristine Power
With 500W per speaker, the Darkglass 212 cab pumps out clean, distortion free bass tones at high volumes. The efficient, high-power design means you'll get chest-thumping low end without unwanted breakup or buzz. Adjust the bi amp levels to suit your needs—crank both sides for maximum output or adjust each channel independently for balanced stereo sound.
Custom-Designed 12-Inch Speakers
The Darkglass 212 cab is loaded with two custom voiced 12" speakers, engineered to reproduce the extended low frequencies of a bass guitar with clarity and precision. Tight, punchy bass is delivered with impact, while the speakers' broad frequency range ensures your tone remains articulate and defined. The speakers are designed to pair perfectly with the Darkglass Microtubes B7K bass preamp, but they sound fantastic with any bass amp or preamp.
Road-Ready and Built to Last
While the Darkglass 212 cab is relatively compact and lightweight for a 2x12, it's built to handle the rigors of life on tour. The plywood cabinet is reinforced for maximum durability and structural integrity. Recessed steel handles on each side make the cab easy to lift and maneuver while large rubber feet prevent slippage and protect floors. With its rugged build and immense output, the Darkglass 212 cab is ideal for bassists in working bands who demand professional-grade gear that can keep up with their busy schedule.

I love darkglass products as much as many bassist but I'm not a fanboy and look at all available options before making purchases. They might not all be my flavor but they've all been amazing in my experience. I recently purchased a Genzler Magellan 800 and I needed a cab that would compliment it. I tried some Ampeg, Markbass, and GK 410 offerings and while to me Ampeg is always a great choice I wanted something a little less colored. The El Paso store happened to have this DG212NE in stock and having sampled it using IRs through my cabsims and listening through my monitors I had a pretty good feeling it would pair up very well. It exceeded all expectations. And emits very musical tones. Despite the "darkglass sound" commonly thought of as distorted chunky bass, I use their B7k and the clean channel on my head to create my main tone which is not distorted and barely overdrive. I play 80s pop, I play reggae, I play some Neo jazz and synthy funk. OK fine, I rock out too and play metal too! This cab let's me pump 800 watts at 4ohms with plenty of headroom, no loss of clarity, no boomy bass, and the mid range punch is insane. Did I mention it's gorgeous? They seem to have nailed it with the 2k cross over, flexing everything above that to the tweeter and freeing up the eminence 12s to do their heavy lifting. Oh and weight wise it's so light! I carried it in with one hand on the beefy handle. What made me realize just how light it is was when I moved my ampeg 210 combo to make room for the Darkglass! That Peg seemed double the weight despite the lack of size. Hope this helps anyone in the market for a great versatile cab price pointed appropriately. Especially if you trade in and use the extra discount!
