Dean

collapse expand iconDescription

the Dean Kerry King V Signature Electric Guitar was designed in collaboration with Slayer's legendary guitarist to deliver the tone and playability needed for his punishing style. With a mahogany body and 3-piece maple set-through neck featuring a comfortably rounded C shape, 24 jumbo frets and ebony fingerboard, this ax provides a smooth playing experience whether you're executing King's signature chromatic runs or chugging bar chords. The Kerry King V is equipped with an EMG 81/85 pickup set and PA2 preamp booster to produce high-output distortion perfect for thrash and heavy metal. A Kahler Hybrid tremolo system allows for radical whammy bar dives and squeals. Own a piece of metal history and experience the power of King's signature model.

Built to Kerry King's Specifications

As a longtime Dean artist, Kerry King designed his signature V model to have the features needed to produce his punishing tone and playing style. It has a resonant mahogany body, 24.75" scale length, and slim yet sturdy neck ideal for shredding at high speeds. The ebony fingerboard's smooth finish and jumbo frets make it easy to bend notes and move quickly across the neck.

High-Output Electronics Provide Distorted Aggression

The Kerry King V is equipped with an EMG 81/85 pickup set, producing a hot, distorted tone perfect for heavy metal and hard rock. The EMG 85 in the neck position has warm, full lows while the 81 bridge pickup has tighter bass and crunchy highs. A PA2 preamp booster provides gain to push the pickups into saturated overdrive.

Kahler Tremolo Allows Extreme Pitch Bends

A Kahler Hybrid tremolo system gives players the ability to radically bend notes for squeals and dive bombs. The low-profile tremolo feels natural and returns accurately to pitch after extreme manipulations. Use the bar to add emotive inflections to solos or drop tunings for a momentary detuned effect.

Premium Components and Construction

From the Grover tuners to the 3-piece maple neck, the Kerry King V is made from high-quality components. It includes a hardshell case for protection and storage between gigs or recording sessions. Experience the power of a metal icon and order the Dean Kerry King V Signature today.

The guitar plays amazing with a great neck feel. It's an easy guitar to play sitting too. The sounds that I can get out of the pickups depends on the PU combination and plays deep as well as flat and earthy. It's solidly built & the case is beautiful!

This guitar plays and sounds amazing. I used to own an ESP Kerry King, and I've always regretted selling it...until now. This Dean model is easily as good as the ESP and sounds great!!! It even sounds good on my Fender Twin clean channel, breaking it up nicely for an awesome sound. Then I use it on my Peavey 5150 Combo and it blows me away!!! Savage thick distortion that has great clarity in it's tone. Would highly recommend!!!!!!
