Warranty
IF YOU BUY A "NEW" DEERING BANJO FROM A NON-AUTHORIZED DEALER, YOU HAVE PURCHASED A USED BANJO AND HAVE NO WARRANTY. When we send a Deering banjo to an authorized dealer, only that dealer or another authorized dealer can sell that banjo as new. If an authorized dealer sells a new Deering banjo to a non-authorized dealer, the non authorized dealer becomes the first owner and he becomes the bearer of the lifetime warranty; not a new dealer by transfer. When the unauthorized dealer sells that banjo to the consumer, even if it was never played or even touched, it is a used instrument and no longer carries the lifetime warranty. This is necessary so that we know how the banjo has been cared for between the time we ship it and the time that our customers buy it. We have no way of knowing how non-authorized dealers care for their instruments because we do not communicate with them. This also honors and protects the strong relationship between Deering and its treasured network of hard working Deering dealers. For your protection against theft and to ensure immediate proof of ownership, four digits of the serial number are visible on the back of the peghead on each banjo. The full serial number is inside the resonator. When you purchase a Deering banjo and send in the warranty card you will receive a Gold Credit card style ownership/warranty card. This gold card is embossed with your name and the serial number of your new banjo for easy identification. Take your Gold Card with you to festivals or when traveling so that if your banjo is ever stolen you can easily prove it's yours.

Best 6 String Banjo in this price range.

I am a church musician and a Quartet member. The Deering Goodtime Six Banjo is proving to be a great addition to our worship service and choir. I have also used it with our quartet on some selections. It has a great banjo sound while allowing me to add a baseline to songs when appropriate. The high E string easily tunes to D for a more traditional banjo sound or it can be tuned to other tunings as well. I have had many favorable comments about the music since adding this banjo. The instrument is very well made compared to the imports. It is MADE IN USA. It's not fancy at all but exudes plain elegance. The old K. I. S. S. principal was applied here. Holds tune well and has plenty of punch. Has more than enough volume to cut through the mix of guitars and choir voices. I have actually used a muting pillow inside on some pieces to cut the volume a bit. The mute also adds a unique sound when just strumming rhythm. I wish it had come with a custom fit hard case. I would certainly recommend this banjo for any guitarist looking to add a little banjo sound to their music. It doesn't take the place of my 5 string banjo but does now a have a special spot in my collection. If you try it you will probably buy it. 🙂
Big & Loud this JUMBO SIX

I purchased a Deering Jumbo Six which is exactly like the this one here, only not advertised by GC.. ..the only difference is the head is 1" larger at 12" instead of the 11" you get with this one here.. ..this a well made instrument, made here in America in San Diego CA.. the people down there are awesome, and willing to discuss the "set-up" before they ship it to your local Guitar Center. I had mine set up with the KAVANJO PICK-UP in the head, @ a reasonable mark-up, but well worth it.. trying to amplify a banjo to compete with guitars is darn near impossible! the KAVANJO amplifies in a way that you don't lose that banjo "twang" in the process.. I play mine thru a Fishman Loud Box Artist amp and get a real acoustic banjo sound.. HOWEVER.. this banjo is loud enough to stay up with the guitars in a smaller venue.. I've been playing guitar for 50+ years, and now can play a banjo sound with a minimal learning curve..
