The greatest amp in a box pedal of all time

I bought this in hopes of getting close to Adam Jone's tone from Lateralus. This pedal does just that when combined with an sh4 humbucker in the bridge of a Les Paul. It sounds fantastic. It comes with its own power supply, and has the build quality of a premium pedal. It's the sound of a 4,000 dollar amp head in a pedal. By far one of the greatest "amp in a box" pedals of all time
Tight metal tones. Old school and modern.

This pedal is a beast. It's built just like the actual Diezel heads. Knobs, paint, leds. I bought the two channel version and it's amazing. The first channel can get sounds like Tool or old school Metallica. The second channel is very saturated and can tighten up with a tubescreamer nicely. The overall feel of the gain is very "alive". It's tight, loud and unforgiving like the real amp. It almost demands tight chops and riffs. Very loud into a poweramp watch the volume levels if you happen to hook it up that way. I've A/B'd this pedal with other preamp pedals like the Revv G3, Mxr 5150, and Friedman Be-Od. This one holds its own and gives you that distinct Diezel Vh-4 tone only a Diezel can do.

I'm a beginner playing on a boss katana mk2 solid state amp and was wondering if this pedal would still sound like the Diezel amp head running through my solid state amp?
It would give you more of a Diexel amp sound, maybe not exact but really close.submitted5 years ago

Is this a preamp?
This is an over drive pedal, not a preamp.
