DigiTech Mosaic 12-String FX Demo with Charlie O’Neal

Description
Tailor the Mosaic's sound with the independent Level and Tone controls. Level will control the 12-string effect intensity while Tone shapes the overall brightness of the effect. The Mosaic will give you a richer, more resonant and full tone than a standard six-string guitar. It is true bypass and uses a 9V DC power supply to easily integrate into your existing pedal board.

The pedal I've been waiting for!
I've been waiting for years for someone to invent this pedal. I've always loved the sound of an electric 12-string but haven't been able to afford a good one (and now can't play one easily due to arthritis). The controls are simple...the level controls the amount of twelve string effect in the sound, and the tone controls the tone of the effect only. Using a Strat on the bridge pickup with the controls on the pedal just a little above half-way, I can get a great sound for both strumming and playing single-note fills. Tracking is marvelous...I love this pedal!

Good for practice
I picked this up after seeing the demos and thought what a great pedal to have when gigging "no more double neck back pain" If you want a quasi 12 string sound at band practice instead of strapping on the double neck this pedal somewhat works. When played at lower volumes the 12 string effect sound passable, but when you add a little grease and pump the volume the pedals upper tones become overwhelming adding unwanted harmonics that conflict with the notes being played. This is easily fixed by turning down the level knob to favor the dry signal but then the 12 string effect is dramatically reduced sounding more like a Chorus effect than a 12 string emulation. I gave it three stars because it is useful for creating some cool unusual lead effects.

It makes your guitar sound like a 12 string

Playing with it using a telecaster particularly in the middle and bridge, it's like I'm playing a twelve string. I'm not sure how it would sound with other electric guitars so but with my telecaster, it sounded fairly convincing. If you don't have the funds to buy a 12 string Coronado or Rickenbacker, this might be a nice alternative.
A unique effect that can make your tone stand out.

I added this pedal as a way for me to build a unique tone. I don't have it turned on at all times, but for certain songs it creates a really nice ambient and ethereal quality to the guitar. If you have the tone knob down it sounds like a regular 12 string, but with the tone and level turned up, it gives the guitar a synth like after effect.

Ok, this is not a twelve-string guitar. YAY! I hate them. They are hard to tune, frequently out of tune and miserable to restring. AND hard to play! This is better. Amazingly, it knows whether you are playing a note on the E and B string or the G, D, A and low E string. How does it do that? Darned if I know, but it does. Even if you play a high note on your G string it knows and it creates a higher octave. The same note on the B string creates a unison. I'm baffled, but amazed. And here is something great. Play a screaming solo with your gain pushed toward distortion and you get some nice synthesizer sounds. Clean and you get twelve-string illusion. Now, the high octaves have a little by of a synthesizer sound, but the illusion works beautifully in context and it is not noticeable. Also, if you are out of tune, it sounds as miserable as a real twelve string. But all in all, though this is still new to me, I think I can predict that this will stay in my rack. It's just that cool! And then some.

No..it doesn't sound exactly like a 12 string but it does come pretty close. In a live gig it fills the bill. Even home practicing it's a little sumpthin sumpthin to fill the space

Was thinking about a 12 string when I saw this on You Tube. Decided to try it first, glad I did. It sounds a good as a Rickenbacker with a lot less work. If you turn the tone all the way up it sounds like a Rickenbacker but I personally think they are a bit too shrill, so I set the Level just past 12 and the Tone just past 12. Also I prefer the sound with a Humbucker that a single coil.
