I'm new to lap steel guitar so this is my first tonebar. I tried a more cylindrical shape but the ergonomics of this lap dawg felt better in my hand. Definitely will be getting another if this thing every wears out but it seems to be pretty solidly made!

As a first-time dobro player, I am just getting used to this Lap Dawg Tonebar. It is hefty and substantial and makes my dobro sound very good. I intend to use it for a long time.

Quality appears very good. I play guitar and bass. I am totally new to lap steel, haven't had a chance to even properly tune it, just tried it out by doing a haphazard tuning so I could make sure everything was functional with no defects. There's not much that can be wrong with a tonebar, some other reviews mentioned that it seemed a bit too short, I'm not presently qualified to agree or disagree. It's my major gripe with reviews that they are solicited way too early., generating mostly positive reviews especially with cheap guitars, novices, and similar situations. Everyone is thrilled with a new instrument, they haven't used it enough to find any faults. So, as I said, the tonebar has no defects, appears to be of good quality. I'll know more in a few weeks.

Yes — the Dunlop Lap Dawg Chromed Brass Tonebar (model 926) is absolutely used on pedal steel guitars in addition to lap and resonator instruments.
