Dunlop

collapse expand iconDescription

A unique combination of crisp highs, aggressive mids, and a focused low end gives Dunlop electric guitar strings a voice all their own. The Dunlop recipe for string-to-string balance and responsiveness produced a 6 string set that is perfect for dynamic lead work, while notes in a chord ring out clearly whether clean or heavily distorted. This powerful voice is delivered in a low-tension string with a smooth tactile feel that breaks in fast and lasts a long time.

The dunlop light top heavy bottom strings are definitely nice. I've just started to get into drop tunings(cuz I play stuff like Pantera and Lamb of God and Megadeth that use Drop D). If I use larger strings (like a 10-52 set or something) my fingers wind up killing me. Plus, i have to modify my nut to compensate the large low E string. These dunlop strings save me from that. They feel nice and don't hurt to play for long hours. Plus, the 46 low E string makes power chords sound demonic with the distortion cranked up. Because a 9-46 set is kinda hard to find with other brands, I looked to Dunlop for strings. Due to the price and the sound I highly recommend these strings to anyone who uses Drop tunings.
