Solid Tube Screamer

I'm a big Tube Screamer fan, and this is probably one of the closer recreations that I've found. Though I haven't ever played through the original Ibanez TS808, I'm in love with my TS9's, and I enjoy several of the other pedals that follow this circuitry, like the Boss SD-1 and the MXR GT-OD. With the East River Drive, you get that amazing Tube Screamer sound, that almost every guitarist is familiar with, and you can either crank the drive on it, or use it as a solid clean boost. It's pretty light, and may not be as durable as other stomp box options, but the sound is really amazing, and the price is insane. In the end, nothing touches the TS9, but this is still a great pedal, and I would definitely recommend it to Tube Screamer enthusiasts.
Great sound. Great price.

Big fan of EHX stuff. Good drive sound. I'm a big fan of the EHX Crayon pedal. This is not as dynamic as that pedal but a good "base" overdrive tone for rhythm.
I would buy this pedal again.

Best Tube Screamer Yet

I have a good handful of Tube Screamers, clones, and variations. The East River is basically in the TS808 wheelhouse as far as the sound, but is slightly smoother, or dare I say a bit less harsh than the 808 style pedals. You can still push overdriven tube amps, overdrive a clean channel, or stack with another overdrive pedal like a regular Tube Screamer type pedal. To my ears, this is like a happy medium between a Tube Screamer sound, and a Klon style pedal. YMMV. It's amazing to me how EHX has been cloning other great pedals, building them in the US, and keeping the prices quite reasonable. I also have their Soul Food which is my favorite overdrive to use with my Tele. I'm looking to pickup the EHX Glove whith is said to be a Fulltone OCD clone. If you're considering an Ibanez TS808, I'd highly recommend considering this for a bit less money. Analog Mike knows his stuff when it comes to Tube Screamers; used him as a resource to mod my TS9's. If I could only have one Tube Screamer type pedal for guitar, it would definitely be the East River.

This pedal is a great pedal if you're looking for a tubescreamer type sound at an affordable price. Great as a boost or when used in a light distortion process.
