Problems with Sustain and Simultaneous Notes
submitteda month ago

Some settings are not heard even with 0 dry sound and 100 key sound. The CTRL knobs are difficult to memorize and may require a manual. Notes played simultaneously do cause odd glitches in sound.
Has some nice sounds and some usless ones.

I bought this unit used from GC, I have the B9 and like it so I thought why not try the Key9. At first I thought, "OH C**P", this thing doesn't sound good at all, think I made a mistake. It took some time but I learned how some of the settings work best and found a few worth using. No it isn't as good as I'd like, I was hoping for a better piano sound which it doesn't do, Grand Piano or Honkey Tonk. I did dial in a good electric keyboards on (3&5 ) and a the organ (8) is okay and I got a pretty good sound out of the vibes (7) which I can get a decent Stones "Under My Thumb" sound if you know what I mean. Don't over use the CTRL2 knob, I keep it close to zero. I'd say it's not worth the asking price EH wants but is worth having as a pedal if you want some special effects, find a used one if you can.

This pedal works well for my needs. I use it mostly for rhythm stuff. It takes good technique to make it sound piano like. I only find 2 of the settings usable but again, it works for me.
I love the C9 and Synth9, but i cant find love for the KEY9!

So I got the Synth9 first. Pretty cool, so I got the C9. Love it. So I'm thinking the Key9 will be just as cool. I was very disappointed. Out of 9 options I only found 2-3 usable. The mallets and steel drums were usable. But I was more interested in the Keyboard type sounds and I just didn't hear it. Like it was muffled or something or it sounded more like a guitar with a chorus.( Where is my Riders On The Storm?) Maybe I got a bad one because I like the other two in series. Either way its going back. Just not for me.
Husband loves this thing!

I got this as a birthday gift for my husband and I couldn't help but give it to him early. He absolutely loves it and would recommend it to anyone who loves these kinds of pedals.
Not very good

Not very impressed with this pedal. I spent about 4 weeks with it before returning. You really need to tweak your guitar settings and I even ran straight into a HiZ input to avoid the amp affecting the sound effects at all. Only setting 3 and 8 seem to work very well. Each sound really requires you to tweak the two settings, so for live use not very easy. Just not happy with it as I couldn't get very realistic piano sounds out of it. The organ is actually one of the best sounds and not even what this pedal is made for. I would not recommend this pedal to anyone expecting to have it sound great right out of the box. Takes a lot of work to get it to sound good.
