Description
Everything you know and love about the iconic Big Muff Pi is packed into a mini pedal that takes up minimal space on your pedalboard. The Nano Big Muff Pi delivers the same rich, creamy and violin-like sustain that has been used by famous guitarists for over 40 years. With simple yet powerful controls for Volume, Tone and Sustain, you can achieve a range of aggressive tones from mild overdrive to full-on distortion. The Electro-Harmonix Nano Big Muff Pi puts legendary rock tones at your feet in a compact, pedalboard-friendly package.
Iconic Big Muff Pi Circuit in a Nano Size
The Nano Big Muff Pi contains the exact same circuit as the legendary Big Muff Pi in a smaller Nano enclosure. It works and sounds identical to the classic NYC Big Muff Pi in every way, providing the same rich sustain and iconic sound that has helped define the sound of rock guitar for decades. The nano size is perfect for pedalboards, allowing you to achieve epic fuzz tones without taking up excess space.
Simple Yet Powerful Controls
With just three knobs—Volume, Tone and Sustain—you have full control over your distortion tones. Crank the Volume to increase the amount of fuzz, adjust the Tone to cut through the mix, and unleash singing sustain with the Sustain knob. From mild overdrive to walls of distortion, the Nano Big Muff Pi covers all the ground of the original Big Muff Pi with intuitive controls that are easy to dial in on the fly.
Used by Famous Rock Guitarists
The Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi has been used by countless famous guitarists to achieve their iconic distortion tones. Legends such as Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Santana and Jack White have relied on the Big Muff Pi. Now you can achieve those same legendary rock tones with the Nano Big Muff Pi, which packs the same circuit into a compact enclosure that's built for today's pedalboards.
Reliable, Road-Ready Design
Like all Electro-Harmonix pedals, the Nano Big Muff Pi is built to withstand the rigors of the road. Its compact yet durable die-cast enclosure can handle the impact of traveling between shows, and the components inside are rated to handle changes in temperature and humidity. When you're playing a gig, the last thing you want to worry about is your gear—with the Nano Big Muff Pi, you can focus on your performance knowing that your distortion pedal will deliver epic tones every time.

Big and bold but needs some EQ!
For me a bigmuff is an essential piece of a shoegaze pedal board. The nano packs the punch of the nyc bigmuff but has a much appreciated smaller footprint. Build quality is solid, as with most EHX. I will say that it can benefit from having an eq pedal in front to shape the tone going in. You can fine tune the bite and crunch that the tone knob makes you work for.

A Bit Much
I'm new to fuzz, so you can take this with a grain of salt. I decided to enter the wild world of fuzz after playing with a Pro Co Rat2, and loving the fuzz tones that I was getting out of it, so I thought that I'd better give one of the Big Muffs a try. This guy was just a bit much for me. It seemed like it was just "balls to the walls" the entire time that it was engaged. I messed around with the knobs a bit to try to add some character to the tones, but it seemed almost impossible to get it to articulate like I had hoped. This fuzzy chaos may be for some people, but I was much more pleased with the clear yet fuzzy articulation of the Pro Co Rat2 on max distortion.

Sounds great. Playing Sabbath with this is definitely a step up from just some reverb and a little delay.
Vast improvement over the 70s build quality.

Mike Mathews continues to innovate. While maintaining a great price. I don't for see this pedal breaking down. This pedal has a very long battery life. Tone control has a very useful range. This pedal also sounds great on bass. I am will to experiment with other EHX products. Wish me luck!

I'm a four decade hobby player and this box really adds depth to my sound. High gain saturation and sustain without sounding fake and digital.
