Electro-Harmonix has reissued the original Version 1 Big Muff, and it’s dripping with vintage Electro-Harmonix DNA and tone. Dubbed the Triangle Big Muff because of the layout of its Volume, Sustain and Tone controls, this is the one that started it all. The Triangle Big Muff is a faithful recreation of the original circa 1969 circuit, now housed in a pedalboard-friendly, die-cast chassis.

Electro-Harmonix founder, Mike Matthews, says: “The Big Muff Pi is the pedal we are best known for, so I wanted to commemorate EHX’s 50th anniversary (1968–2018) by rereleasing V1, the very first Big Muff. Original pedals are now selling for hundreds of dollars, and this reissue absolutely nails that creamy, violin-like sustain and musical tone at a price a working musician can afford.”

The Triangle Big Muff features the following nods to convenience: an LED to indicate effect status, true-bypass switching and the option of being powered by a 9-volt AC adapter.

    Sounds great, not a typical big m#ff sound and probably the least *fuzzy* of the bunch but I'm glad to own it. Nails the Gilmour sound which is what I was after. Compact and has a lot of output. A great but for anyone who wants a tamer big m#ff but still wants "the sound". I would buy again if something ever happens to this one.

    I've got a simple pedal board and use this along with a NuTube Screamer. They complement each other well. With just minimal settings I can get almost unlimited sustain and can easily get way more fuzz than i need.

    Legendary but this one is compact so if you want good fuzz n distortion look no further this is it this pedal puts out and the price is good too.

    If you're looking for that Comfortably Numb soaring guitar lead - this is perfect. However, of you want other tones - I'd suggest looking somewhere else. Even at the minimum setting, this pedal produces heavy fuzz.
