bass big muff demo

Description
The Electro-Harmonix XO Bass Big Muff PI Distortion Effects Pedal, a pioneering pedal that gives bass players the iconic fuzz of the Big Muff Pi optimized for full-bodied bottom end. Drawing on two classic Muffs that bassists have long used, the Bass Big Muff Pi creates tones reminiscent of the battle-tank green Sovtek Big Muff Pi and the legendary '70s Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi—but with beefed-up lows that cut through the mix. A direct out allows for feeding an unadulterated signal to a second amp or effects chain, while a Bass Boost/Dry toggle augments the Bass Big Muff Pi's formidable sound with additional low-frequency warmth. The Prodigy is reborn with underworld instincts, wielding the drive of the original classic Big Muff Pi and the earthy support of a bass-tailored design with no loss of low end. This is the pedal bassists who love the Big Muff sound have been waiting for.
Legendary Fuzz, Optimized for Bass
The Electro-Harmonix Bass Big Muff Pi delivers the iconic distortion of the Big Muff Pi without sacrificing low end. Volume, tone and sustain controls facilitate dialing in the ideal amount of fuzz, while a mini switch provides a bass boost for extra bottom when needed. Create punchy fuzz tones reminiscent of hard rock and heavy metal or push the sustain for a synthesizer-like drone. The Bass Big Muff Pi's wide range of fuzz sounds are optimized for bass yet also work well with baritone guitars, keyboards and other instruments.
Flexible Signal Routing
The Bass Big Muff Pi features dual outputs for flexible signal routing. The Effect Out sends the distorted signal, while the Dry Out sends an unaffected signal. Use the Dry Out to send a clean bass tone to a second amp or PA, blend the clean and distorted signals together or record them separately when tracking in the studio. The Bass Big Muff Pi also works well with mixer inserts or in amp effects loops.
Roadworthy and Ready to Play
Like all Electro-Harmonix pedals, the Bass Big Muff Pi is built to withstand the rigors of the road. Its rugged die-cast chassis protects the circuitry within, and the footswitches are rated for 100,000 presses. Power the Bass Big Muff Pi with a 9V battery or optional EHX power supply. Reliable and roadworthy, the Bass Big Muff Pi delivers iconic fuzz and more to bassists and other musicians everywhere.

A MUST OWN FOR ANY BASS PLAYER!!!!!!!!!
I got this bad boy in the mail yesterday morning. And man, I was ASTONISHED by the sound this pedal produces. I could go from Queens of The Stone Age fuzz to Cliff Burton distortion in the flick of a switch. My favorite feature of this pedal is the Dry setting. It takes tone clean tone thats get bypassed to your amp and adds the amount of distortion you want with NO LOSS OF YOUR LOW END. Compared to some of the more pricey pedals out there, i strongly suggest investing in this product. Also don't worry about breaking it. The components are housed inside the medal shell with very durable knobs and switches. The only thing you have to worry about is damaging the floor when you drop it!

I grabbed this pedal for my bass because I wanted a 90s-ish tone and considering my circumstances this was my best option. I was trying to imitate 1996 Matt Sharp's tone. Then I found something else, and I guess I just "made it mine". I'm recording some tracks and having fun with it. My battery died so I'm thinking of getting the recommended power supply. I realized that if you turn all the knobs to max the bass almost sounds like a synthesizer. So I can go from a cool garagy/grungy/homemade/whatever tone to nice pinkertonish tone to a synthy distortion. It's pretty fun stuff.

This thing is sludge in a box. Gotta love it. Can get totally fuzzed out OR be more of an angry, punky distortion.

Great pedal with no loss of low end. Has been in the rotation for years, super reliable. Never an issue. Started with regular big muff and couldn't handle the bass. This does a great job.

I play with a group of friends as a hobby and really enjoy that now we have distortion on the bass as we like to play different types of rock. This is my first bass pedal and really enjoying it.
