Little Big Muff Pi - Demo by Dan Miller - Distortion/ Sustainer

Electro-Harmonix

collapse expand iconDescription

This Electro-Harmonix XO Little Big Muff Pi puts the legendary distortion/sustainer design in a more compact and rugged die-cast box, but the sound is true to the 1970 original—silky-smooth violin-like sustain that lets you hold a note for an entire set. It comes with Sustain, Tone and Volume knobs.

This is just what you'd expect, but I can't use the actual word, or this review will get flagged. It sounds extremely close to the bigger version, and it gets the job done just the same. My only complaint is the build quality and durability of these pedals, because EHX are pretty notorious for failing on you after a while, but they've got some solid original circuits, like this one.

Whether plugged into my amp or my audio interface, this pedal is extremely noisy. Lots of hiss coming from it when not in use.

  • Amazing pedal, amazing build.

Best fuzz there is. Have tried all sorts and this trumps them all. Buy it. The craftsmanship is quality as well.

  • Finally...a fuzz that does what it does and does it we'll!

This is a great pedal if you use hi gain amps and like a Gibson or super strat of some sort. When I can't the desired tone I want out of this, which is very rare, I use a fuzz face. I recommend buying both and there's no way you can go wrong.
