Recording and performing. I bought this model in 1986 and performed without flaw for all those years, I now have the latest model and it out performs the old one. I still have the old one and still use it!

I have to mention something about this mic. I purchased on 20 years ago. Dropped uncountable times, had stupid helpers throw it to each other during pack up and this mic still is a solid piece of equipment. The most surprising thing about it was when I used it for micing the Bass guitar. This min gives you a true flat line bass recording ( and Live ) that will make you thing " Why am I spending so much money on the expensive Bass mics " ? I got all what I needed as for tone, especially the bass grown and bottom and top. I had to share that because I still use this 20 years later because it never failed me yet. Maybe because I wrote this it might. LOL But I did get 20 years of use. Thought you all would like to know that.

This is a fantastic mic! I play guitar in a metal band and do mostly singing with some low screams and growls, and this mic can handle it all! It really accentuates the natural midrange of my clean singing, and keeps my low growls crisp and never muddy. If you sing and scream, BUY THIS MIC!!!!! You will not regret it!
