Why use ELIXIR Strings

Description
These Elixir 80/20 bronze acoustic guitar strings with POLYWEB coating provides musicians an unmatched combination of rich, musical tone and superior durability. Elixir's innovative POLYWEB coating protects the bronze wrap wire and hex core from the elements, keeping your strings fresh sounding three to five times longer than uncoated strings. The 80/20 bronze alloy delivers a warm, punchy tone that rings out loud and clear.
POLYWEB Coating Extends String Life
Elixir's groundbreaking POLYWEB coating is an ultrathin micro coating that protects the bronze wrap wire and hex core without dampening tone or playability. The result is longer-lasting, great-sounding strings that maintain tone and feel for an extended period of time. Say goodbye to the hassle of frequent string changes and experience the convenience of strings that last 3–5 times longer than uncoated strings.
80/20 Bronze Produces Rich, Balanced Tone
The 80/20 bronze alloy is a popular choice for acoustic guitar strings due to its warm, well-balanced tone. 80/20 bronze strings produce full lows, clear mids and articulate highs that work for a variety of musical styles. The custom light gauge (.011–.052) is a versatile, all-purpose gauge that provides comfortable playability and an evenly balanced tone across the fretboard.
Built to Withstand the Elements
Elixir strings are built for real-world playing conditions. The POLYWEB coating protects against common enemies of tone like dirt, sweat and humidity, making sure the strings stay fresh sounding longer, even with heavy use. The bronze wrap wire and hex core are highly corrosion resistant, maintaining tone and playability even in hot, humid environments. For players demanding peak performance, Elixir POLYWEB coated strings deliver.

I use Elixer custom Light strings on my acoustic because they are easier on my fingers. I do change the high E string to a .012 to control the jangle I get on acoustic. I also use the poly web strings because they dramatically cut finger noise moving up and down the fret board.

I do some finger slides so I love the reduced finger noise of the polyweb strings. My acoustic sounds better with light strings but my "old man" fingers do not fare so well. I use the custom lights but change the .011 string to a .012 to control fret chatter.

I am still new to the guitar, so I'm unable to compare these strings to other brands, but they are a far better set than whatever was on my acoustic before. I purchased these as an upgrade to the platinum setup package per the advice of the guitar tech, and it plays great and sounds great #sweepstakes
