Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Outfit Limited-Edition Electric Guitar Lemon Burst

Description
Timeless Looks
The Epiphone limited-edition 1959 Les Paul Standard is a striking recreation of the classic through and through. Its mahogany body produces a perfectly balanced sound, while the AAA maple veneer top gives it the image of a collector’s guitar. The rounded C mahogany neck is also comfortable to play while the Indian laurel fretboard produces a lively sound and rich overtones, adding immensely to the guitar’s overall sound.
Classic Les Paul Sound
Equipped with Gibson USA Burstbucker 2 and 3 humbucking pickups, the limited-edition 1959 Les Paul Standard delivers that Les Paul tone that players have loved and appreciated for decades. Since they were introduced in the 1990s, the Gibson Burstbucker pickups have successfully captured subtle variations of true, classic humbucker tone. When overdriven, the Burstbuckers can achieve an incredible distortion with sightly enhanced highs that made the original humbuckers famous. Other features that make this guitar a true Les Paul classic are a Switchcraft selector switch and output jack, CTS pots, '50s-era wiring and Mallory capacitors.

Great guitar!
I got mine on sale at my local GC, it came in a box, so it wasn't a floor model which I was happy about. The fret board was darker then the floor model..The setup out the box was very good just had to lower the action a tiny bit. The intonation was perfect and no sharp fret ends. The guitar sounds great.. the pickups sound awesome! I have a Gibson SG and they sound as good if not better the the SG's. The finish of the neck is great too..love the satin feel of it, not the usual sticky feeling you get with other Epiphones or Gibsons. The satin matte finish of the guitar itself I'm not a big fan of but I understand that some people like it. I used some polish and it shined right up. Now I can see the dancing flame top. I am very pleased with this guitar and what a good value it is. I would recommend to anyone who doesn't want to pay Gibson kind of money but want the Gibson sound. It comes with a nice hard shell case which is very cool. Overall a great guitar for the features and price. Very happy!

Bought and Returned
There are other versions of this model that I liked better such as the aged dark Cherry burst which I also picked up and kept. But this exclusive color maybe it's lemon or honey i didn't like. The pickups sounded off and the top of the guitar felt like plastic. I just didn't like the texture of the finish so I returned it. The good things…..electronics felt good and had orange drop capacitors. The neck on the one I returned was good and so were the fret ends. It will say the fret board wad really dry and faded out of the box. But some conditioner fixes that. While this limited edition and the aged dark cherry version which I subsequently bought should've been the same with regards to make, pickups and electronics the LE version just didn't resonate with me. So I did return it…..this guitar might be great to some people and speak to them but to me it just did not. Maybe I got a bad one. But overall I really feel like these newer Epiphones, the slash models, 59 Les Paul's and 61 Les Paul's being offered are great guitars on an affordable budget for what's in them and what they are. They're not baseline guitars and these 59 Les paul are worth the money they're asking. I wouldn't spend $1,000 for one but $700-800 is a good price point.

I started out playing a Les Paul so I knew that I wanted to upgrade to a better more eye catching one and when I would walk into my Guitar Center it would catch the eye immediately. I love the color of the lemon burst and is very unique in the finish on the body being almost a mate finish. The next feels amazing when moving with some speed. The electronic were fantastic. The pickups on that guitar are so good that it was beating Gibson Les Paul's in the sound part. Overall I have 5 other more guitars just as expensive if not more but I still pick this one up first every time. And once it is picked up it is only put down when I am done playing

Equipped with Gibson USA Burstbucker 2 and 3 humbucking pickups. It doesn't stop there. Switchcraft selector switch and output jack, CTS pots, '50s-era wiring and Mallory capacitors. Hmmm...I read that about high end Gibson models. And it's on this Epiphone @ fraction of a Gibson price

Nice Package - Questionable Quality

So, I've owned a number of EPIPHONE Les Paul's over the years. This was a really nice package with some really nice features (Gibson pickups, witchcraft toggle, etc). HOWEVER, this guitar developed a stress crack next to the nut. This guitar is kept in a climate controlled area, never gigged, never dropped. I've seen online complaints about this same issue on this model which is unfortunate for such a neat package. Really disappointed with this…..not to mention this guitar WAS NOT NEW AND SOLD AS NEW. This was an obvious floor model as received.

This is a great guitar for the price. I bought mine about 3 months ago, new, from a local guitar center. I love the way it feels and plays. It has a nice weight to it and it has a wide range of sound. You can't go wrong for the price range of this guitar. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who wants an awesome affordable guitar.
