Epiphone

collapse expand iconDescription

The Epiphone Classical E1 nylon-string acoustic guitar ideal for beginners and developing classical guitarists alike. Modeled after professional classical guitars, the E1 features a solid cedar top and mahogany back and sides which provide a warm, balanced tone. Its slim neck and low action make the E1 exceptionally easy to play, while its elegant design includes 4-layer ivory and black binding and an inlaid rosette. The Epiphone Classical E1 comes complete with online lessons to help you get started.

Solid Cedar Top Produces an Authentic Classical Guitar Tone

The E1's solid cedar top gives it a rich, mellow tone reminiscent of traditional classical guitars. Cedar is a popular wood for classical guitar tops due to its ability to produce complex overtones and a broad tonal range. The E1's cedar top, combined with its mahogany back and sides, results in a warm, balanced acoustic voice perfect for classical guitar repertoire.

Comfortable Neck and Low Action For Easy Playability

Epiphone designed the E1 to be exceptionally easy to play, with a slim neck and low string action. Its nut width of 1.75" and flatter 12" fretboard radius feel familiar to most guitarists. The E1's low action, made possible by its dual-action truss rod and radiused fretboard, produces little resistance when fretting notes and chords. This high playability makes the E1 an excellent choice for beginners and students.

Timeless Design Highlights

The E1's elegent cosmetic details highlight its classical guitar inspiration. Ivory and black binding adorns the guitar's body, neck, and headstock, and an inlaid rosette surrounds the soundhole. Chrome tuners, a tortoiseshell pickguard, and a satin finish complete the E1's stylish yet understated look. A gig bag is available separately to keep your E1 protected when transporting it.

I purchased this guitar as a starter for my daughter. It's perfect for her small hands & the nylon strings are much easier on her fingers.

I wanted an inexpensive nylon string guitar because I didn't know how much I would play it. I also wanted a student guitar, thinking the action would be good as I have arthritis. ("Action" being the ease in which the strings are pressed down with the fretting hand.) It has been eight years since I played a guitar. I received my E1 last week and I am pleasantly surprised! It is easy to play, sounds nice and also looks beautiful. Highly recommend.

A classical fretboard would be better; it's wider.
