Ideal set for your first 12 string acoustic.

Bought these for a bargain 12 sting. It's my first one and had a heavy set of strings, high action on the higher frets and a saddle that needed shaving. Putting these on fixed the first two issues, a bit of sandpaper to the bottom of the saddle fixed the rest. Previously, even the first few frets were difficult. The playability is like night and day. I didn't miss any tone on either end that I could see. Even if you graduate to heavier stings, I'd suggest starting out on these for your first 12 string.

Kept getting sore fingers after playing on my Taylor, but then put these on. They are so soft and playable, I can play all night. Highly recommend these strings.

I bought these for an old Stella-type laterally braced 12 string. If you've ever seen Lead Belly's guitar it's just like that. These came with a warning not to tune up to full pitch, so I actually have this set tuned way down to B standard. They have enough stiffness to not feel soggy, but give a nice warm mellow sound. They project nicely. I don't go through strings quickly (especially on a 12-string lol) so I can't really comment on how well they keep their brightness, I like them after they're a little dead personally. They've been on there a couple of months and still sound great to me.
