Description
Ernie Ball's 2222 Nickel Hybrid Slinky strings combine the brightness of Super Slinky strings with the warmth of Regular Slinky strings for a balanced tone that cuts through the mix while maintaining note clarity. Made in the USA to Ernie Ball's exacting standards, these nickel-plated steel strings are built to last through endless jam sessions and gigs. As the pioneer of rock guitar strings, Ernie Ball knows how to produce strings that unleash a guitar's full potential. The 2222 Hybrid Slinky set is a versatile, do-it-all string set trusted by famous rock guitarists for its ability to handle anything from chunky riffs to articulate solos. Guitar Center is thrilled to offer the 2222 Nickel Hybrid Slinky strings.
A fusion of Super and Regular Slinky for balanced tone
The 2222 Nickel Hybrid Slinky strings feature a combination of Super Slinky and Regular Slinky gages, with lighter strings on the higher frets and heavier strings on the lower frets. This provides balanced tension and intonation across the fretboard, with the brightness and "slinkiness" of Super Slinky strings on the high frets and the fullness and warmth of Regular Slinky strings on the low frets. The result is a set that can handle both articulate single-note runs and chunky power chords with equal ease.
Precision-made for consistency and longevity
All Ernie Ball strings are precision manufactured in the USA to strict quality standards, ensuring consistent tone, feel and intonation in every set. The nickel-plated steel wrap wire is tightly and evenly wound around a hex-shaped steel core for maximum mass and output. The plain steel strings are made of specially tempered high-carbon steel for strength, tone and longevity. Properly cared for, a set of Ernie Ball strings can last through multiple shows before needing a change.
A brand trusted by iconic rock guitarists
Ernie Ball pioneered the rock guitar string and their Slinky strings have been used by generations of famous rock guitarists, including Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Steve Vai and Slash. When the tone and feel of a string set has been trusted by so many iconic players, you know it's built to unleash a guitar's full musical potential. The 2222 Hybrid Slinky set is a versatile, do-it-all string trusted to handle any musical situation.

My New Favorites
I'd used GHS, D'Addario, and Dean Markley, and they'd all left me a little wanting. Finally, I figured I might as well try something new. I was attracted to these strings basically because of the guages, which I find to be perfect for comfort and playability, but then when I put them on my guitar I was blown away. I didn't know that strings can sustain like these did! They're not as trebly-sharp as D'Addarios, and not as dull sounding as GHS, but rather a happy medium that just sounds amazing. I've had this set on for about two months now, and they are still going strong. I mostly play in standard, but I'll occasionally drop D, and these strings have handled them both marvellously. Just out of curiosity, I even tuned to C# for some good ol' Sabbath, and the Balls took it beautifully. These are my new favorite strings.

Ernie Ball Hybrids suck.
I bought these strings today, and i put them on. After 5 hours of no playing, i went back to pick up my guitar, and started playing. Ten minutes after playing Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd, my strings broke. I used 0.10 gauge strings before and they never broke.

I get a really rich and full sound out of the thicker bottom gauge especially when playing chords and the ability to bend those thinner top strings without much effort.
Love Ernie Ball!

I love the tone I get from these strings as well as how they feel to play, nice and smooth. I can also feel comfortable strumming or picking as aggressive as I want (I typically use tortex medium picks)
I would buy this product again and again

Strings felt great, very easy to install and the sustain on the lower three strings are much better than standard. High e string is very thin and one broke while installing, luckily I had another pack ready.

They are roundwound. They are not smooth like a flatwound.
