Ernie Ball's Burly Slinky electric guitar strings provide a robust tone and higher tension for players craving fat sound. The nickel-plated steel wrap wire and tin-plated high-carbon steel core deliver full lows, cutting highs and balanced mids to complement all guitar types.

Custom String Gauges for Powerful Playing

The Burly Slinky set features custom string gauges, from a heavy bottom end to a lighter top end. The 11-52 gauge range provides thicker, beefier chords and low-end rumble while maintaining enough tension for expressive lead playing and soloing. The variation in gauges gives dynamic tone and feel across the guitar's range.

Iconic Ernie Ball Slinky Feel

Ernie Ball strings have been relied on by legendary rock artists for over 60 years. The Slinky feel is instantly familiar to players, providing comfort and confidence. The Burly Slinky set offers a heavier version of that iconic feel for shredding solos and dropped tunings without sacrificing playability.

Nickel-Plated Steel for Cutting Tone

Nickel-plated steel wrap wire delivers a bright, articulate tone that cuts through dense mixes. The tin-plated high-carbon steel core adds warmth and fullness, creating an overall balanced tone that complements various musical styles.

A great alternative for rhythm and leads!

Normally I go for the Ernie Ball Beefy Slinky since I'm a rhythm guitarist who plays in lower drop tunings. The Burly Slinky are very similar to the Skinny Top Heavy Bottom set which I was not as big a fan of for my style of playing so these are a nice middle ground with beefy enough lows but not too harsh on the highs. Great for either rhythm players in standard or drop tunings and also for lead players that need more bend in their strings.

Solid bodies (Fender strats for instance) are important additions to my arch top guitars. Always a good back up and it has got to be good if i need it.

Trying this on a mini acoustic with a magnetic pickup. Sort of seems to work, though of course any pickup sound is no longer really an acoustic sound—all you can hope to do is get close. Nice strings. #sweepstakes
