For players seeking to unlock their guitar's most punishing tones, the Ernie Ball Mammoth Slinky Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings deliver. Specifically engineered for drop tunings as low as A, B and C, these strings are Ernie Ball's heaviest set, delivering massive low end and thick distortion. The Mammoth Slinkys feature nickel-plated steel wrap wire surrounding a steel hex core for Ernie Ball's iconic feel and sustain. The Mammoth Slinky strings let you dive into the depths of downtuning with optimal tension and definition.

Ultra-Heavy Gages Built for Brutal Tones

With gauges from .012 to .062, the Mammoth Slinky strings are ideal for players craving a powerful set capable of the most punishing tones. The .062 low E string provides a thick, distorted foundation, while the .012 high E string cuts through with clarity. This extreme range of gauges gives guitarists optimal tension and playability for drop A, drop B, C standard and lower tunings.

Nickel-Plated Steel Wrap for Slinky Feel

Like all Slinky strings, the Mammoth Slinkys feature nickel-plated steel wrap wire surrounding a steel hex core. This construction gives the strings Ernie Ball's signature flexible feel, sustaining notes and chords with balanced warmth and brightness. The nickel plating also provides protection from corrosion, keeping your strings fresh through intense playing sessions and extreme downtunings.

Precision Manufactured for Consistency and Durability

Ernie Ball strings are precision manufactured to strict specifications, ensuring consistent performance, tone and long life. Put through multiple stages of testing, the Mammoth Slinkys meet Ernie Ball's high standards for quality and durability. With proper care and maintenance, Mammoth Slinky strings provide consistent tone for maximum creative freedom in lower tunings.

B-standard six-shooters rejoice!

I'm an old metal head and love recording mediocre riffs with these things in Reaper. I've got a partscaster with Invader pickups and these strings chugg better than any out of the box strings sets I've trued. I've built up some custom string combinations but these are the CREAM OF THE CROP. These strings have great tension at B and C standard and will leave you unjustifibly in a position you'd rather not be. The wound 24 tops off a great set of strings. The wound 24 really sets these above. If you're like me and refuse to buy a 32 string djent axe, these will breath new life into that old Jackson/Fender/Ibanez for at least 2 more months... NOBODY DOES IT BETTER. #sweepstakes

Can these strings tune down to G# standard on floyd rose

Can these strings tune down to G# standard on floyd rose

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
Yes, Ernie Ball Mammoth Slinky (12–62) strings can handle tuning down to G# standard (Ab standard) on a guitar equipped with a Floyd Rose, but with a few important caveats and setup considerations: Adjust the Floyd Rose spring tension: Heavier strings = more tension. You’ll need to balance this with the springs in the back cavity to keep the bridge level. Check neck relief: The added tension might require a small truss rod tweak. Re-intonate: Lower tunings move the sweet spot of pitch, so your saddles will need to be repositioned. Nut and saddle considerations: If your Floyd Rose is set up for lighter strings, you may need to slightly widen the nut slots or file saddles for the thicker 62 gauge.

Are these good for drop F tuning???

Are these good for drop F tuning???

I’m very sorry. Your question is not clear. The guitar is an "E" instrument. It can't be 'drpped' to an "F"

Since the strings are so thick, could you tune to E standard? Or will they have way to much tension? Because I was think of tuning my 6 string to B standard, but I was just wandering if it could tune to E standard if necessary.
