Got this as a trial. Now I have a new favorite. I played Remo pinstripes and coated for years but not any more! This head is sensitive on the sides of the head like a regular coated but in the middle is focused and strong. I'm very impressed with Evans drum heads and use them on all my drums. They out last all others.

This head has a "power center" which is a little thicker and more durable, so it can last longer. The outer edge is normal, but produces a different sound which makes for variety and versatility.
