This is the all time benchmark for strings.
I have used Fender strings for over 35 years. They are tops, and when Fender closed their string factory in Mexico in 2016, all Fender strings are NOW made by D'Adario, (colored ball ends are used proving these are made by D'ADARIO. These are the roundwound strings that come stock on new Fender basses.

not so good
purchased a 2010 Amer Jazz... came with Fender strings- must be a match... strings are hard and dull sounding... have used Roto's and DR's on my Ric- for years... think I will switch my Jazz to them as well!

I've been running these strings on my vintage Peavey and Fender basses recently and really loving their warm, balanced tone, plus the sustain of round wounds Nickle plated strings.

What strings should I put on my Fender Jazz bass?
It comes down to personal preference. If you're looking to get similar to what came on it, these strings would more than likely be the same strings it was shipped with.
