I have been a long time Rotosound user. I like stainless steel strings because they last a lot longer than nickle. Rotosounds are becoming quite expensive. I tried a set of these on my 2007 Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass. They sound awesome and feel great. I love the sound that comes from my bass! These strings high a very high output and allows each frequency to do their job without sounding harsh. These strings sit well in the mix also. The Fender 7250ML aren't very expensive either so you can buy a couple sets in one trip. I think that these strings have a decent life span. I do not feel that they last as long as the Rotosounds though, but they are cheaper and sound just as great if not better.

will thse work on a short scale?
No, they're too long. You'd have to clip them below the taper.
